Helpful Questions from Other Travellers

Q
How do I get there?
A
Fly straight to Ngurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar). Most of the courses include pick up from your accommodation. Alternately, you may rent a private car transfer from the airport, it will take you on a 2-3 hours journey to reach there. Public transport is another alternative, it will get you to the east side (Diving Heaven) of Bali in 3 hours.
Q
Do I need to go with a guide?
A
Yes, in order to get a diving certification. For leisure dives, unless you know the area well, it would be best to go with a guide who can show you the best spots!
Q
What's the best time to go?
A
The best months to visit are April, May, June, July, August, September
We recommend the above period because you would have:
  • Better chance to spot animals
  • Good weather
Q
Any tips for what to do in the area?
A
There are many things to do in East Bali — check out the bat cave, known as one of Bali's most sacred temples, otherwise climb to Lembuyang if you're up for a challenge. There's about 1,700 steep steps you have to take before you get to the top but the amazing views are well worth it.
Q
Is there anything else I should know?
A
Avoid having dive lessons on the day you fly! The drastic change in pressure and altitude can be really dangerous.
