Annapurna Community Trek

The Annapurna Community trek is an intimate trek in the Annapurna Region that offers incredible views away from the crowds. Like the more popular Poon Hill and Annapurna Base Camp treks, you'll trek amidst magnificent peaks of the Annapurnas, Machhapuchhre and Dhauligiri, but you'll also take less-crowded routes and stay in local villages.

How do I get there?
A
From Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), you will have to take a 30 minutes flight to Pokhara Airport (PKR). This journey will cost you USD 91-226. Alternatively, take a 3-hour bus ride from Kathamndu to Mugling. This journey will cost you USD5-6. Then, take a private hire to Pokhara, which will take around 1 hour 30 minutes.
Q
Do I need to go with a guide?
A
Yes. Pokhara is still undiscovered at the moment and not many are familiar with the trekking routes other than the locals. Having a local guide with you will prevent you from getting lost as you are unlikely to meet other travellers around!

Do I need to train up?
A
Yes! All treks in the Pokhara region should be trained for. However, only light cardio training to ensure good physical shape is required. The trek is manageable even for amateur mountaineers.
Q
What's the best time to go?
A
The best months to visit are September, October, November
We recommend the above period because you would have good weather.
Q
Any tips for what to do in the area?
A
Some interesting activities in Pokhara include boat rides along Lake Phewa, white water rafting, and visiting bat caves. Otherwise, you can head to Kathmandu after your trek to enjoy the city culture of Nepal!
