What you should know

How do I get there?

If you take the train, from Indira Gandhi International Airport, you will take the Orange Line to New Delhi Station. This will cost you USD1 and take you 26 minutes. Then, you will make a transfer at New Delhi Station and board the train towards Kathgodam. Ideally, you should take the 12040 train which is a direct train to Kathgodamn and takes only 5 hours 40 minutes as compared to the other trains which requires transfers and take 1-2 hours longer. Do check the schedule ahead of time to know which trains you can board at what time. This journey will cost you USD 4-16. At Kathgodam, your guide will be there to pick you up. Do note that it is better to reach in the morning.

Do I need to go with a guide?

It is not necessary to go with a guide but our itinerary and guides will definitely ease your travels as they will keep you well informed of the local life and culture, as compared to going alone!

What's the best time to go?
The best months to visit are January, February, March, October, November, December
We recommend the above period because you would have good weather.
Any tips for what to do in the area?

You might also want to check out the Shitla Devi Temple, Jeolikot village, and explore Bhimtal, the largest lake in Kumaon, where tourists have often spotted pheasants and exotic deer!
