Helpful Questions from Other Travellers

Q
How do I get there?
A
The experience takes place at the Old Frankland Tea Estate, which is approximately an hour's drive from Kandy. You'll be picked up from a location of your choice at Kandy town centre by the friendly staff at the Frankland Tea Estate. To get to Kandy, you can catch the train or drive from Colombo. The journey from Colombo to Kandy will take you approximately 3.5 hours (whether by train or car).
Q
Do I need to train up?
A
Not at all. The walk around the estate is at a very easy pace.
Q
What's the best time to go?
A
The best months to visit are January, February, March, April, October, November, December
We recommend the above period because you would have good weather.
Q
Any tips for what to do in the area?
A
The tea plantation is quite isolated, so there is not very much to do in the immediate surrounding area. However there is plenty to do in Kandy. In Kandy, you can visit the Bhudda Tooth Temple, the Kandy Botanic Gardens or walk around the lake.
