What you should know

From Delhi, you have to take a domestic flight to Dehra Dun (DED) Airport. This journey will cost around USD22-95 and take about 50 minutes. From the airport, take a private hire to Rishikesh — the journey is about 17 mins and costs about USD7-9.

Alternatively, you can take the train from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) to Haridwar. Board the Subway Orange Line to New Delhi Station (30 mins/ USD1), then transfer to the train station Ghaziabad (USD4-15). From Ghaziabad, you can board a different train to Rishikesh for USD4-15. However, the duration is 10 hours 19 minutes, and only runs once daily.

It is possible to go without a guide but a guide will provide a deeper cultural understanding of the places of worship you will be visiting.

This trek is suitable for all levels, even beginner! Just be prepared to do 2-3 days of trekking!

This trek can be done all year round.

There are many exciting adventures in Rishikesh such as rafting and bungee jumping. You can also take a speed boat around Tihari Lake, visit an Air Safari in Dehradun, or paraglide in Mussoorie.
