What you should know
If you are headed to Chandigarh for the start of your trip:
From Chandigarh Airport (IXC), go to Behlana bus stop, take the line 17 bus for 9 minutes and arrive at Chandigarh. Alight at Mall bus stop and this journey will cost you USD 1.
If you are headed to Shimla for the start of your trip:
From Chandigarh Airport (IXC), you will have to head to Behlana and take buses 17/143 to Isbt-17 to make a change/transfer at Chandigarh. This journey will cost you USD1 and take you 20 minutes. From Chandigarh, you will board the Super Luxury bus to Shimla. This journey will take you 1 hour 40 minutes and cost you USD2-3.
As this trip requires good experience driving through mountains and valleys, it is advised that you take a guide for this trip. A guide will also better increase your chances in spotting wildlife as they would have gone through specialised training.
