Do I need to go with a guide?

As this trip requires good experience driving through mountains and valleys, it is advised that you take a guide for this trip. A guide will also better increase your chances in spotting wildlife as they would have gone through specialised training.

What's the best time to go?
The best months to visit are February, July, August, September
We recommend the above period because you would have good weather.
What's the difference between the options?

There are various ways to explore Spiti Valley. We have provided options for all adventurers, be it trekking-enthusiast, seasoned cyclists, or those looking to travel further and deeper on a jeep. There is also a focused tour on spotting snow leopards.

Any tips for what to do in the area?

The area of Chandigarh is known for its spectacular views and scenery, one of the must-see places to visit would be the Sukhna Lake which boasts an incredible view of the sunset. Boats and rented out by the lake so don't miss out on that as well!

Chandigarh is also home to a number of brilliant parks filled with luscious greenery and rides for children. Perfect for a little picnic, do head down to Terraced Garden, Thunder Zone and the Rose Garden which is the largest garden of its kind in Asia and a tourist hotspot. If you're looking to have a nice stroll and appreciate the scenery, these are the places for you.

For those looking to satisfy their hunger, Chandigarh boasts a wealth of scrumptious street food. A few of the best street food stores Chandigarh has to offer are Garg Chaat, Bholey Di Hattey and Pal Dhaba, all of which serve the most mind-blowing Indian food that will leave you wanting more.

Is there anything else I should know?

Spiti is located at quite a high altitude so drink plenty of water and give your body time to adjust to the new environment to avoid altitude sickness.
