Enjoy a different day, breaking with the routine, in a creative, relaxing environment, using ceramics as an instrument of expression, communication and fun.Hand painted Tiles have a significant place in each and every culture around the world- Azulejo from Portuguese, Peranakan from Singapore, Iznik from Turkey, Talavera from Mexico, Rabari from India, Zellige from Morocco and Majolica from Spain.In this workshop you will have the opportunity to experiment with a very effective and different technique, no matter if you are an experienced artist or not. You might not have a creative background or you conversely you might know exactly what you want to paint. Either way I will assist you in the process and show you samples of different drawing and painting techniques that will help you to complete your idea and optimise your design. I will share all the tricks and techniques to create a beautiful painted tile.What you’ll learn:• A brief history of tile designing- symmetry, geometry, common themes, recurring design elements • How to trace and transfer image onto tile surface • Colour harmony • how to transfer the design onto the tile • how to use ceramic paint to fill in the pattern • Painting techniques: How to achieve smooth glossy finish • Adding tactility and dimension using relief outliners
