Mount Fansipan (or Phan Xi Păng in Vietnamese) is the highest mountain in Indochina, at 3,143m. There are several trails to reach the summit of Mount Fansipan, known romantically as the ‘Roof of Indochina’ and this is one of the easiest ones which is known as the Tram Ton Pass trail. It begins at the entrance to Thác Tình Yêu (Love Waterfall), 15km west of Sapa and will take you up and down Mount Fansipan within a day.

Mike is a great young guide who knows a lot and is so positive and kind. The homestay was very nice and unexpectedly comfortable. We had a great time with the hosting family, our guide and our (luckily, small) group. Although it is great to see and learn about the cultures from our guide and the people in each village, it is quite touristic at times and it does maintain a skewed financial system in which some children do not go to school because selling to tourists makes easier money. But not investing in this kind of tourism means even less money for them, so until a more sustainable option for change for the locals is found I think this is still the better way to help sustain locals in all their wonderful skills and culture. Seeksophie does a great job for this. Thank you for an unforgettable experience, all of you!
