This unique experience offers you a chance to see the Indian villages located in the foothills of the Himalayas and live with the locals there. You will spend a couple of nights with your hosts, who are all incredibly friendly and hospitable. You will get to visit different communities and see first-hand how the villagers live. You will also take part in village activities such as ploughing, sowing, harvesting, collection of firewood and fodder, cow herding, goat care, cooking traditional food like cheese, yoghurt, butter and tea, mat and basket making, washing clothes with hands, carrying water on your head, playing games with the children. In exchange, you can teach them some of your songs or rhymes. Some of the other highlights include visiting schools, drawing heena designs on palms, taking local boat rides and going on village walks.
