Did the tour with a friend in October as a private tour. We had a great guide, Sylvester, who showed us around the Islands. In addition to the guide the boat had a crew of 4 which took good care of all practicalliteis around the boat. Food was traditional indonesian food and was very good. The boat was basic standard but all you need for this kind of trip. We saw Komodos on both Rinca and Komodo Isaland. Komodo had a more rich wild life and here we could also see a lot of birds. In addition to the trecks we did a lot of sorkeling at the amazing reefs around Komodo Islands.

We had an unforgettable trip going on an overnight tour with Komodo trekkers. From start to finish, the customer service was excellent and the owner/guide were both very professional and attentive. The first day, we went snorkeling several times in various spots around the islands about an hour and a half to two hours from Labuan Bajo. At one spot, we saw over a dozen turtles, one was by far the hugest turtle I’ve ever seen! Even the guide mentioned that he had not seen a turtle of that size. We didn’t see any manta-rays, but we attempted a short snorkel to look for them. The food on board was really good and plentiful...they accommodated to our mostly vegetarian family with fish added. The rooms on the boat were basic and clean with bunk beds and one toilet adjacent to the rooms. We set off early the next morning to Padar island for sunrise and then rose the boat about an hour to Rinca Island to see the Komodo dragons. Right away, we spotted about 8-10 of them, mostly around the local kitchen as they were waiting for food. We only saw one on our hour long trek thru the dry walking path. Apparently, between 11-3 is when they are resting, when he was during the time that we were there. On the way back, we stopped at one last beach which had a beautiful sandy atoll and views of the islands. Highly recommend this company!

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time exploring the islands around komodo. We took a 3D2N private trip and this part of our vacation was far and away the best experience in Indonesia. Our boat was clean and comfortable, the cabins were equipped with AC and there was a beautiful deck with chairs and cushions. The entire trip went as smoothly as it possibly could have for which we must give thanks to our amazing guide Louis and his caring and attentive crew who did everything to ensure our experience was memorable. They really went above and beyond our expectations. Louis is a super smart guy, he was always by our side explaining interesting things about Flores history and their fascinating culture. Moreover he is a very talented photographer and took some great pictures of us... definitely the best shots of our entire trip :D The boat crew was very friendly and our cook Bunda spoiled us with the best Indonesian dishes from breakfast to dinner. We will never forget the tasty fried bananas she used to prepare after our Snorkling sessions! The time we had was wonderful, from the reefs to the hikes on the islands, to watching the sun setting with thousand fruit bats flying over our heads. I can’t emphasize enough how amazing it was, this is an experience we will truly remember for a lifetime.

We had an amazing experience in our boat trip with Komodo Trekker. We chose the 3D/2N trip and during those days we saw beautiful landscape views, islands and animals. We enjoyed a lot snorkeling surrounded by stunning corals, turtles, star fishes and a huge variaty of beautiful fishes as Fancy, our local guide, lead us really well during all the snorkeling and trekking sessions. The boat crew was really nice with us and they took care of us very well. It was easy and straightforward to book the trip with them as they were very professional and thoughtful. We strongly recommend this trip. It was the best part of our trip to Indonesia.

The guide is really nice and very interactive. He makes sure everything is clear. I am on a business trip but it's like a leisure trip..

How much are Komodo National Park fees?
Komodo National Park fees are complicated. They depend on: the islands visited (which is weather dependent), whether it's a weekday or a weekend, whether the guest is a foreigner or a local, and the number of people on the boat (as ranger fees are shared). This is why no two people will tell you the same number when asked about fees! The fees are also complicated by the fact that they're set by the national government and paid directly to Jakarta. So there is little visibility on changes from time to time. This is why we usually advise international guests to bring cash of between IDR 350K to IDR 460K per person per day for weekdays and between IDR 400K to IDR 520K per person per day for weekends. This is more than you need, but it avoids you ending up short of cash if the boat doesn't have too many people or the fees suddenly change!
Will I get the exact same boat in the pictures?
You'll get the same type and quality boat, but you may not get the exact same boat. There are 4 types of boat - Standard (i.e. basic), Speedboat, Deluxe and Luxury. Most of the boat operators in Komodo have a few boats that they rotate. Depending on the group size on the day, the boat operator may end up using a larger or smaller boat. The boat that they use will be of the same type and quality but may not be exactly the same boat. Also, there may be situations where the exact boat needs to be sent for servicing so the boat operator may use another boat in these cases as well.
Is the itinerary guaranteed?
The itinerary for Komodo National Park is very weather dependent, as the journey takes place out in open waters. Some days the currents are very strong, and it might not be safe to go to certain islands. We know this can be frustrating if you had your heart set on specific spots, but please be assured that the boat operators will do their very best to make sure you see the dragons and the highlights of the park - even if it's not identical to the itinerary here. A visit to Komodo is quite the adventure, so please do be prepared to embrace some level of uncertainty!
