Paid for en-suite but shower only trickled water out and was unable to be used to shower. At times no water came out at all. Guide was hesitant to speak in English and share his knowledge

First of all: the experience was amazing. I think itโ€™s hard to find a better value for money ratio anywhere else. Boat: the sleeping rooms were equipped with fans and comfortable mattresses. The motor of the boat was quite loud in the cabin and did wake you in the morning at about 6 to go to the next location. However, I believe this is the case for all boats and nothing you can avoid. The chill area was really nice with some sun chairs and bean bags. The only thing thatโ€™s missing is a proper sound system for guests. Lastly, everything on the boat was especially clean. Food: amazing cooking skills and always enough food for everybody. Water was for free and we had some storage to keep our own drinks cool. What would have been nice is, if they sold beer or other drinks. Guide & Crew: our guide Fawzi was really friendly, always smiling and gave us a helping hand at all times (taking photos, showing us around at the reefs, carrying our bag). The rest of the crew did not speak English, but was always helpful and friendly as well. Tour: we started the Tour at 09:00 (day 1) at the Hostel and arrived at the port at 13:30 (day 3). Besides the standards (Padar, Rinca, Manta Point) they took us to quiet and great snorkeling spots. At one spot we were almost alone and saw more than 6 turtles. Plus, on our way we were sometimes accompanied by some dolphins. Recommendations: bring beer, lots of sunscreen and expectations matching the price point of the tour.

Intimesea and Ilvit got recommend by a friend of mine. I was more then happy and glad to find a tourorganizer which doesnt try to cheat on me or try to sell a high price tour to me. Ilvit organized for my and a friend the sailing trip. Since i travelled before a long time Im used to doing such kind of tours but to be honest it was over my expeditation. Ivit guided me until the boat and came even on board to make sure everything is fine. She gave me a new and good quality snorkel set and thins in my size. The boat was exactly the same then on the picture showen day before. Grew on board was young and friendly. The provide us unlimited water and coffee and tea. And Jones could speak english very well. We were a group of 12 and had a very good time there. Komodo and the other island were pretty cool, snorchelling with manta rays was amazing and sunrise on the top was worth the hike. The crew made sure we can see all the spots and the places were fortunately not crowded, which was very nice. Being a vegetarian on the trip was very easy to hadle either. They provide many vegetarian dishes every meal and delicios melon as well. Sleeping on the boat was nice and comfy they provide a pillow and a blanket. All together my best trip since 4 months and felt very glad that I choose Ilvit and Intimesea. Group on the boat was mixed ages and nationalities which was pretty cool ๐Ÿ˜ Highly reccomend to book with Intimesea

How much are Komodo National Park fees?

Komodo National Park fees are complicated. They depend on: the islands visited (which is weather dependent), whether it's a weekday or a weekend, whether the guest is a foreigner or a local, and the number of people on the boat (as ranger fees are shared). This is why no two people will tell you the same number when asked about fees!

The fees are also complicated by the fact that they're set by the national government and paid directly to Jakarta. So there is little visibility on changes from time to time.

This is why we usually advise international guests to bring cash of between IDR 350K to IDR 460K per person per day for weekdays and between IDR 400K to IDR 520K per person per day for weekends. This is more than you need, but it avoids you ending up short of cash if the boat doesn't have too many people or the fees suddenly change!

A few of our trips include the fees in the price. You can see it listed in the inclusion list. If this is the case there is no need to bring cash with you.

Can I still visit Komodo National Park in Jan-March rainy season?

While you can still visit Komodo National Park during the rainy season in Jan-March, there is a higher risk of boat trips being cancelled due to the weather.

The risk is lowest for the 1-day speedboats (as they are more stable) so if you are going Jan-March, we would highly recommend doing a 1-day speedboat trip. Although the 2D1N trips and some 3D2N trips are still sailing during the rainy season, there is a slightly higher risk that they might be cancelled due to the weather.

Given the unpredictability of the weather, the cancellation could happen at any time (even the morning of the trip). We will keep you updated as soon as we can if the weather prediction is not favourable for your trip.

If your trip is cancelled due to the weather, you can choose to receive a full refund, OR reschedule your trip for the next day (if weather permits). So if you're travelling from Jan-March to Komodo, please plan some extra days for your trip so you have additional days to try again, even if your original trip is cancelled!

Is the itinerary guaranteed?

The itinerary for Komodo National Park is very weather dependent, as the journey takes place out in open waters. Some days the currents are very strong, and it might not be safe to go to certain islands. We know this can be frustrating if you had your heart set on specific spots, but please be assured that the boat operators will do their very best to make sure you see the dragons and the highlights of the park - even if it's not identical to the itinerary here. A visit to Komodo is quite the adventure, so please do be prepared to embrace some level of uncertainty!
