The name of the agency was exactly what we experienced. A terrible and disappointing trip to Fan Si Pan. Even though it was booked on a short-termed basis, it was confirmed. On Sunday (starting day) we were waiting for 15 minutes and still no pick. After a call, we were picked up after further 10 minutes and stopped at a massage studio. There, the „agency“ started to prepare the stuff. Obviously we were forgotten! Next disappointing thing was our tour guide, who was not able to speak English at all except of three words like „careful“, „your head“ and „yes“. He was not able to give us additional information during the tour! Finally, the „accommodation“ was horrible with no electricity, any kind of light or heat. We didn’t expect a five star hotel, but at least a tiny bit of comfort! All in all: a terrible tour!!!!

Dear Andreas Kuehnler, On behalf of The Terrible Tour Guide Travel team, I would like to send you our sincere apologize about this problem, because we could not make you satisfied as your expectation. Then I would like to thank you to give us a chance to explain everything. Our hiking date is on Sunday, a pretty busy day in Sapa and as you experienced, there is a huge construction in Sapa Town that make the whole town's traffic in terrible condition every morning when every tour operators pick up their clients from hotel to hotel. We are so sorry for not picking-up in time. Concerning the tour, everything was ready before the hiking date, from the travel permit to Fansipan, foods, guide to the medal and certificate. You were not forgotten. We had to prepare stuffs for 300 hikers on the next day which make our whole place look like a mess. Concerning the guide, we partner with locals from the Black H’mong community to guide you for this tour. This doesn’t just reduce the cost of the tour, but more importantly, it helps their local community. Although they can speak little English to communicate with you, please don’t expect them to be as fluent as a professional and licensed tour guide. We also mention clearly on our website and on our travel itinerary Concerning the hut accommodation, we understand that there should be more comfort but unfortunately we are hiking mountain, the tallest one in Indochina and there is no people living there so there was no electricity in the hut. Once again, we are very sorry with what happened, we understand that your emotion and feeling are the most important factors in a trip. Thank you for your understanding! Kind regards, The Terrible Tour Guide Travel Team

Took a short trip to Hanoi late Nov with the family. A family friend recommended we use The Terrible Tour Guide as he had booked a tour with them previously, and thought they were good. Mind you this family friend has HIGH standards, and The Terrible Tour Guide did not disappoint. Joey, the CEO, very promptly sent me an outline of things that we could do as a family in Hanoi and included the estimated prices and amount of time of each tour per day. His suggestions were right up our alley so there wasn't much to tweak. Upon arrival in Noi Bai Airport, we were greeted by our lovely guide, Fifi and our driver, Mr Trang. We went on a city tour, a walking foodie tour and visited villages all around the outskirts of Hanoi of the 4 days. Even though traffic in Hanoi was crazy, Mr Trang kept his cool and we felt safe in his car. Fifi was always very chirpy, knowledgeable and obliging - we even visited an AEON Mall to buy home rice paper and fish sauce. We will definitely return to Hanoi and arrange for more tours with The Terrible Tour Guide!

The tour guide, Chi, is friendly and always brief us all the background of each places. Sapa trekking is superb! Walked through the villages, to see the farms and people. Had an experience to have lunch in their villages. Due to winter season, the Love Stream waterfall is okay but the journey walking through the woods is amazing. To see the buffaloes by our side.

Fantastic trip to North Vietnam, all arranged by The Terrible Tour Guide Team. Everything ran smoothly from our first email. Joey our specialist was polite, responsive and so helpful. He came up with few options to choose from and helped me build the most suitable itinerary for my trip. The private tour guide Huy was young, enthusiastic, knowledgeable. He was also flexible to our interests and was able to modify our plan. Transportation was nice and comfortable, our driver had great driving skills, he was also very helpful despite he spoke little English. The combination of hotels and homestays was all great, especially the night at the homestay in Ba Be National Park where we helped the host cook dinner and played with their children. It was unforgettable!! Our trip wouldn’t have been perfect without their help.

We were so impressed by the excellent service that Joey from The Terrible Tour Guide arranged for us. He was so caring and thoughtful planning us 5-day itinerary that catered exactly to our needs .We enjoyed our trip in Vietnam so much though the weather was not on our side. All the hotels we stayed in great locations and decorated beautifully (especially the AIRA hotel in Sapa and Quoc Hoa Hotel in Hanoi). Our guide Chi were excellent, spoke good English and have great knowledge of all the places we visited. Nothing to complain
