I just came back from an incredible 5 day/4 night overland journey that was organized by Komodo Wanderlust Tour. Efraim was a reliable contact in all questions before traveling, the itinerary was great (check for yourself on his website - it includes all main hot spots) and he even arranged that I could meet my guide the night before and kept in contact with me during the trip via Whatsapp to check whether everything is alright. The car was in great shape and the hotels were clean and comfortable. Without guides and drivers these trips are no fun and I got very lucky because I got to go with Marcello as driver (safe, solid, nerves made of steel, and always with a smile) and Emanuel Nua Bei (Tel. +6285238661084) as my guide. Emanuel is unbelievably knowledgeable about Flores' culture and history, deeply passionate about his home town and regency of Bajawa and just fun to be around with. He adjusted to my speed while hiking, answered every of my many questions patiently, was taking some stunning pictures of me at the sights we visited (since I am traveling alone I really appreciated this help), and even invited me to his home and family for dinner. I fell deeply in love with Flores thanks to those guys (and the fact that Flores is stunning) and cannot recommend them enough. Thank you!

I booked 3D2N Private Trip for my family (wife and 3 kids). This was a fantastic trip with tons of memories that are still moving in front of my eyes. My kids rated it as a most amazing time together with family. We saw almost everything we had in our list; 1. Komodo Dragon (More than 10) 2. Dolphin (I can't count) 3. Manta Reih (About 20) 4. Swiming with Turtle (I can't count): My kids enjoyed swimming with Turtle This wasn't possible without a very well managed trip and Emanuel (our guide) made it even wonderful. Emanuel was like a part of our family taking care of my kids as well. He knows every corner of the island and the amazing this is he knows the spots where we can get best shoot. We have hundreds of pictures that we haven't yet finished posting. Food was amazing. I was really worried and took bunch of other ready to eat food but it wasn't required. We enjoyed the different food that was served and it was delicious. If you are in a family I would recommend going for Private tour. You have more control over the itinerary. Thanks Komodo Wanderlus Tour for your flexibility, we were able to spend more time in some spots where enjoyed e.g Mata Point. I think the best thing of Komodo Wanderlust was the trust they have with the customer. Because of some reason I couldn't transfer advance but they took risk and arranged everything to make our trip best trip we ever had. Hope to be back again! Cheers!

In the beginning of September my wife and I did the Komodo Tour 4 Days / 3 Nights with Komodo Wanderlust. It was the best part of our trip around Indonesia, thanks to the team of Komodo Wanderlust (Efraim and Emanuel). Everything was organised in advance and all went as expected and planed. It was a great experience overall! The days on Komodo national park were amazing. The tour was very relaxing and we took our time to look around in all the spots they took us. Thanks to Emanuel and the boat crew!

We booked a 4day private komodotour. With 1stay at a hotel and 2 nights at the boat We loved everything about it. The communication by Efraim by whatsapp went smooth. Good english and good organisation. We were picked up by Emanuel(guide) and the driver by the airport. We feld directly comfortble. Everything is organised perfectly. We dont have to think about anything just enjoy the trip. That was also due to Emanuel he makes it more special. His humor and positive vibe. He took care of everything during the whole trip. He knows so much about Flores and everything. Our personal needs were taking into account by Emanuel. We saw several mantas and turtles. And flying foxes. We were Lucky because we could swim with mantas in the sea. Also saw 6 komodos. And 1 baby komodo. And just beautiful nature like pink beach and blue water, caves, and so much more!! The boat was good. We had airconditioning in our private cabine. The food during the trip was more than excellent. Waking up on blue water and enjoy the view was lovely. Beautiful coloured fishes around us. We definitly would book another tour to see Flores and guided by Emanuel. This was memorable!!

Pak Efraim and his team provide some of the best tours in all of Flores! My parents and some friends came to visit me while I was living in Labuan Bajo and Pak Efraim did an incredible job organizing a private boat to see Padar Island, Pink Beach, and the flying foxes. It was a day I'll never forget. For tour guides with excellent English skills and knowledge of the area, book a tour with Komodo Wanderlust. You won't regret it!

How much are Komodo National Park fees?

Komodo National Park fees are complicated. They depend on: the islands visited (which is weather dependent), whether it's a weekday or a weekend, whether the guest is a foreigner or a local, and the number of people on the boat (as ranger fees are shared). This is why no two people will tell you the same number when asked about fees!

The fees are also complicated by the fact that they're set by the national government and paid directly to Jakarta. So there is little visibility on changes from time to time.

This is why we usually advise international guests to bring cash of between IDR 350K to IDR 460K per person per day for weekdays and between IDR 400K to IDR 520K per person per day for weekends. This is more than you need, but it avoids you ending up short of cash if the boat doesn't have too many people or the fees suddenly change!

A few of our trips include the fees in the price. You can see it listed in the inclusion list. If this is the case there is no need to bring cash with you.

Can I still visit Komodo National Park in Jan-March rainy season?

While you can still visit Komodo National Park during the rainy season in Jan-March, there is a higher risk of boat trips being cancelled due to the weather.

The risk is lowest for the 1-day speedboats (as they are more stable) so if you are going Jan-March, we would highly recommend doing a 1-day speedboat trip. Although the 2D1N trips and some 3D2N trips are still sailing during the rainy season, there is a slightly higher risk that they might be cancelled due to the weather.

Given the unpredictability of the weather, the cancellation could happen at any time (even the morning of the trip). We will keep you updated as soon as we can if the weather prediction is not favourable for your trip.

If your trip is cancelled due to the weather, you can choose to receive a full refund, OR reschedule your trip for the next day (if weather permits). So if you're travelling from Jan-March to Komodo, please plan some extra days for your trip so you have additional days to try again, even if your original trip is cancelled!

Is the itinerary guaranteed?

The itinerary for Komodo National Park is very weather dependent, as the journey takes place out in open waters. Some days the currents are very strong, and it might not be safe to go to certain islands. We know this can be frustrating if you had your heart set on specific spots, but please be assured that the boat operators will do their very best to make sure you see the dragons and the highlights of the park - even if it's not identical to the itinerary here. A visit to Komodo is quite the adventure, so please do be prepared to embrace some level of uncertainty!
