Situated deep inside the jungle of Borneo, far from the touristic area, the quiet and serene FOREST RESERVE offers lifetime chances of spotting Borneo's precious wildlife that call this jungle their home.At the reserve you will have activities such as walks and safaris organised every day from morning, afternoon and night. Each session will last for two (2) to three (3) hours according to the peak time when the wildlife is active.Activities such as night drives focus on the nocturnal wildlife mostly mammals such as the Flying Squirrel, Civet Cat, Slow Loris, Western Tarsier, Pygmy Elephant, Leopard Cat, Clouded Leopard, Sun Bear, Porcupine, Owls, Frogmouth and more. Both morning and afternoon drives focus on birds (Hornbill, Eagle, Trogon etc.) primates (Orang Utan, Red Leaf Langur, Bornean Gibbons and Macaque) and also specific diurnal wildlife (Pygmy Elephant, Wild Boar, Muntjac, Mouse deer etc.)Afternoon/night walks inside the jungle focus on insects, spiders, amphibians and reptiles.Kinabatangan River has the most similar wildlife as Deramakot whereby it is also the home for Orang Utan and Pygmy elephants. The other additional species of wildlife you will see is huge Salt Water Crocodile, the iconic Proboscis Monkey and Silver Langur. Similar to Deramakot, the river cruises are also timed for different set of riverine wildlife. Therefore, if you didn’t get to see an Orang Utan and Pygmy Elephants at Deramakot, Kinabatangan is your second chance.

L.O.S.T Borneo are jungle specialists who know the ins and outs of the Borneo jungle. They have an incredible amount of heart and they take pride in not simply being a guide, but also a good friend to their guests. They are comprised of a team of ex-poachers, as they believe that employing poachers in the tourism industry is one of the best ways to facilitate ground-up conservation. Not only will the employed person stop poaching, his entire community will also stop poaching as result of his employment in the tourism industry. This also means that their whole team knows the jungle like the back of their hands, and will show you a different side to nature than anything you have experienced before.
