What You'll Do

Day 1: Makasar - Toraja
Makasar - Toraja

Depart from airport and go directly to Tana Toraja

  • Taken directly to Tana Toraja, an approx. 8 hours drive.
  • Your journey passes through the Buginese villages with their traditional houses on poles.
  • Next you will visit the fishermen village in Barru district with its beautiful beach and If the fisherman are not all out fishing,
  • you will see their traditional Buginese Pa'bagan (fishing boats).
  • In the afternoon, stop in Puncak Lakawan for coffee break while enjoy the spectacular view of Mt. Kabobong.
  • Late afternoon you will arrive at Rantepao, Tana Toraja.
  • Dinner and overnight at the Hotel. (not included)
  • Time and itinerary may be different, depends on your arrival in Makasar
Day 2: Lemo - Kambira - Suaya - Londa - Kete Kesu
Lemo - Kambira - Suaya - Londa - Kete Kesu

Today you'll get to see several historical and cultural monuments.

  • 08 AM or 9 AM You will visit Lemo, the location of the hanging graves with their rows of Tau-Tau sculptures.
  • Next visit Tampangallo, an ancient and natural grave in a cave with its entombed deceased.
  • Head to Kambira, to view their cultural methods to respect infant death, graves which are placed on Tarra Trees
  • Lunch will be at Maruang restaurant in Rantepao (or anywhere as your request , Lunch is not included)
  • Then visit Marante & Nanggala, local Torajan villages with big Tongkonan houses and rice barns
  • In this area you will also see bats hanging on trees around this village.
  • At last you will visit Kete’ Kesu, a local Torajan village, a World Heritage for the Tongkonan houses with rice barns.
  • Return to the Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Batutumonga - Weaving center
Batutumonga - Weaving center

Today you will do soft trekking and go to carving and weaving center

  • 9 AM after breakfast go to Batutumonga to visit the town of Rantepao,
  • Then go to Lokomata where we will find graves on a giant megalith stone.
  • You wil continue with soft trekking from Pana to Tikala passing through several Torajan villages to experience the local daily life style.
  • In the afternoon, you will visit Pallawa & Sa'dan famous as the center of wood carving and weaving in Tana Toraja.
  • Then return to the Hotel.
Day 4: Toraja - Makasar

You will be heading back to Makasar

  • 9 AM After breakfast check out of the hotel and drive back to Makassar.
  • In the afternoon, arrive in Makassar for transfer to Hasanuddin Airport Makassar to catch your flight for your next destination.
