We were searching for a vacation to be off the grid and away from mass tourism. We are a spontaneous and active family that travels a lot. We began to search the areas outside of Bali, Lombok, etc. Through (Hidden by Airbnb) maps we searched around the remote island group of Anambas east of Singapore. We found a few resorts in this island group and reached out to Axel to inquiry more about his island cottages. He was responsive and helpful with booking, logistics and asking about our needs. Upon arrival we were in very good hands. Axel is very knowledgeable about the area, nature, culture and an excellent cook! We stayed in the family cottage. Simple bamboo cottage on the island, very comfortable beds! Our 9 days were full of amazing snorkeling, fishing, hiking, scooter rides, boating to other islands, relaxing and eating fresh fish everyday. We visited a small village on another island and went to a school (our boys could participate in games) and feel the local culture. This is an emerging destination that is relatively undiscovered. Due to the remoteness not everything is available but living local was wonderful. Axel is great communicator, he speaks 5 languages, very trustworthy and responsible.

If you are into private, secluded and exclusive beach with crystal clear waters, amazing corals and plenty of aquatic life. This is the place to be. When I was there, there were only 3 of us with not another human onsight except for the owner Axel Ang and his staff whovtakes carecof everything we need and all the meals incuding BBQ fish dinner on the small but practical jetty. There are 3 very comfortable and huge chalets when I was there and were constructed with nature in mind blending into the natural surrounding. To reach tenggilling from singapore, you can either take a 9 hour ferry from tanjung pinang or batam to tarempa. From there Axel will take you there by speedboat which take slightly less than an hour. You can also fly from batam to Matak Island and its a short speedboat ride to reach the resort. Its advisible to contact Axel on your plans if you are going and he will make the necessary transfers and arrangements. He knows the area by the back of his hands, speaks very good english and bahasa Indonesia and extremely helpful with all querries. However, I would suggest a couple of days stay at tarempa, a laid back and relax town to relax and explore their way of life. And not to miss their satay, otak and Mie Tarempa which is cheap and delicious. Mie tarempa is like mie goreng except its wetter and fried with kamoong chicken

Amazing place. Even better host Its a dream. I can't wait to come back and make again miles and of the best snorkeling have ever done... and i did a lot all around the world. Good for all level of swimmers. Beautiful house reef only a few meters fron the beach or more adventurous breathtaking snorkelings a litle bit more out from the quiet bay. Axel! Your place is beautiful there is no words to describe it. Its heaven. And i wish all the best in world to you and your project. Thank you very much for everything.
