Surfing & Relaxing in Medewi. "Stayed at Bombora Medewi Wavelodge in the last week of November 2019. Fifth time to Medewi but first time at Bombora. After looking at transport options to get from the airport to Medewi, we ended up Arranging for resort to pick us up from the airport (USD$70). In the end this was comparable to using drivers we knew in Bali and other transport options.
Staff were very friendly and courteous. One of the great things about Bombora is that you will always be offered nice cold glasses of water throughout the day while by the pool or just sitting watching the surf or sunset from the deck. This removes the need to go out and keep buying bottles of water (also keeps the plastic use down).
Bombora is a cool place to stay, overlooking the main surf break in the region. Just immerse yourself in the wet-edge pool and watch the action out front. Later in the day grab a cold beer or cocktail and watch the sunset from the deck or the pool.
Bombora offers a reasonable food menu which is good as there are not a lot of good eating options within walking distance. This is improving and I expect there to be more options in the future.
We stayed in an Oceanview room on the ground floor. Nice and big (44sqm) with a good sized deck to have a few afternoon drinks or just chill out.
Bombora is owned by an Australian who was there while we were, however he had not been onsite for a long time prior. The place was very clean, in good repair (only a couple of years old) and very oriented towards the surfing community.
I would recommend Bombora consider additional shade options for the pool as it is in full sun for the majority of the day. The sun lounges provided only get good shade up until late morning. If it were up to me, I would put drill some core holes in the outer edge of the pool, (where you walk to place candles at night). You could bore holes big enough to accommodate umbrellas around the outer edge providing shade in some of the pool while still retaining the view of the surf. this may help to lower the pool temperature as well.
Overall a great stay and would be happy to return.
Thanks to Supriadi (General Manager) and staff for a great stay."
Medowi. Beautiful in every way. "Our second trip to Bombora. What a great place to surf and relax. Not over populated and a medium size resort where you feel really at home. We had the upstairs room with views to the surf and local fishing boats as they cruised in and out.
The staff are superb. Nopi and Novi in particular were professional, friendly and fun!
Certainly would recommend Bombora, particularly to couples who want to surf and chill, with great service and beautiful surrounds."

Perfect family surf trip "Best barista made coffee I’ve had since arriving in Bali. The infinity pool and restaurant looks over the surf break. The staff are so friendly and well meaning and some of them memorised our names. This left hand point break is so mellow but even in its ‘off-season’ we got enough size for a challenge, perfect for beginners to any surfers looking to get away from the crowds. We surfed twice a day for a week, once at low tide and once at high tide, got a massage everyday and watched the sun go down over Java every evening."
