What You'll Do

What You'll Do

This is a sample itinerary and may be weather-dependent.
Day 1: Labuan Bajo - Sabolon Island - Sebayor Island
Labuan Bajo - Sabolon Island - Sebayor Island

Today you will complete 2 check dives.

Accommodation: Kapal Teman - Triple Room

  • 01:00pm - Pick-up at Anywhere in Labuan Bajo
  • Guests will be picked up at their hotels or the airport.
  • Transfer to the boat. Welcome drink and boat briefing. Set up your diving gears and start the journey to Sabolon Island for a check dive.
  • SABOLON KECIL: Wall with a slope and a sandy bottom (20 to 25 meters). The reef is very sane and here is a perfect place to bounce back. For the most confirmed divers, a seamount away from the reef offers huge sea fans hosting some pygmy seahorses. Barracudas are often spotted there.
  • SABAYOR: Starting on a sandy slope leading to a wall, the marine life here is abundant: leaf fish, groupers, surgeonfish, and jackfish.
  • Anchor the boat in Gili Lawa Darat for the night.
Day 2: North Komodo
North Komodo

Today you will check off your list of must-visit dive sites in Komodo National Park.

Accommodation: Kapal Teman - Triple Room

  • You will visit CASTLE ROCK: A must! This seamount located in the North of Gili Lawa Laut is famous worldwide for an incredible underwater activity. For this dive, in particular, we will enter the water in the blue and reach the split to observe napoleons, dogtooth tunas, grey reef sharks and white tip sharks surrounded by schools of trevallies and fusiliers.
  • CRYSTAL ROCK: As rich as Castle Rock, Crystal Rock can be more impressive for its sumptuous topography and the diversity of the coral.
  • GOLDEN PASSAGE: A dive which can become very exciting. This channel separating Komodo
  • Island from Gili Lawa Darat Island is a great drift with bump head parrotfish, ignobilis, and white tip sharks. Little trekking to a great panorama on top of Gili Lawa Darat.
Day 3: Banta
Banta

Today you will explore the less-common dive sites in Banta, wrap up the day with an amazing sunset overlooking Sangeang, an active volcano.

Accommodation: Kapal Teman - Triple Room

  • Visit GPS POINT: This seamount located North East of the island requires careful planning as it is submitted to strong currents. Once underwater, barracudas, pelagic and reef sharks make the show! The safety stop is always very busy as well.
  • HIGH VOLTAGE: A famous site as well, offering a great diversity of coral and marine life and a dizzying topography. A must for confirmed divers searching for sensations. The coral garden at the safety stop is perfect for beginners.
  • TANJUNG RASA: A cleaning station for the manta rays! This slope also hosts orangutan crabs,
  • pygmy seahorses, and nudibranchs.
  • Spend the night in the bay: trekking on the wild hills until we reach the highest part of it and enjoy an amazing sunset on Sangeang volcano.
Day 4: West and North Komodo
West and North Komodo

Today you will dive in an amazing topography in Cauldron, Kalimaya Canyon and Tanjung Batumonco. Each has varied marine life!

Accommodation: Kapal Teman - Triple Room

  • KALIMAYA CANYON: Named after the resort located in Sumbawa, this site is absolutely tremendous! These two rocks in the middle of the Sape Strait hide a submerged canyon which links one to another. A spot for the white tip to rest!
  • TANJUNG BATUMONCO: North West Komodo, this site is still quite unknown and offers a fantastic drift dive! Bump heads parrotfish, red snapper, oriental sweetlips, napoleons or shark gather here.
  • THE CAULDRON: Holds its name from this circus shape. Here again, dive in an amazing topography where there's often great surprises such as the encounter with manta rays.
  • Later at night, moor in the bay of Gili Lawa Darat.
Day 5: Centre North Komodo
Centre North Komodo

Today will be a classic drift dive day at Tatawa and Siaba

Accommodation: Kapal Teman - Triple Room

  • TATAWA BESAR: A classic drift dive just like divers love it.
  • TATAWA KECIL: This rock often submitted to strong currents is made out of incredible overhangs and swim-throughs. Come and dive in clouds of multicolour anthias, and butterflyfish and oriental sweetlips or even batfish.
  • SIABA KECIL: Drift around overhangs where you will discover barracudas and red snappers but also angelfish and butterflyfish. And the final in the staghorn coral garden with clouds of anthias.
Day 6: Northern Komodo
Northern Komodo

Today you will dive in Karang Makassar, in search of the Manta Rays!

Accommodation: Kapal Teman - Triple Room

  • KARANG MAKASSAR: A shallow drift dive to search the Stars of the national park: the Manta rays!
  • BATU BOLONG: Another highlight of Komodo. This famous rock in the middle of the Linta strait is often synonym of strong currents. Being careful in the planning of the dive will allow us to fully enjoy this spectacular dive site. Walls, pinnacles, breathtaking coral and marine life. A must!
  • WAINILU: A night dive dedicated to the critters and rare specimens. Incredibly rich dive site where decorator crabs, scorpionfish, Coleman shrimps, zebra crabs or ghost pipefish make you crazy!

Center South of Komodo

You will finish up with the last two dives, visit the Komodo/ Rinca Island to spot the famous last dragons on earth.

Accommodation: Kapal Teman - Triple Room

  • PENGAH KECIL: A rock made out of pinnacles and walls covered with colourful soft corals. Even though the visibility can be poor and the water a bit colder, this dive site will remind you of the diversity of coral species from the South of Komodo.
  • BONSAI: A tiny rock with a tree standing in the middle of the sea. Once again, here the topography is stunning. You will end the dive in a rainbow of anthias looking for critters during the safety stop. But check in the blue you may encounter some mantas coming to say bye!
  • WALK WITH THE KOMODO DRAGONS: Only two dives to desaturate and discover the famous last dragons on earth.
