Details

Set out for the iconic dive sites in Komodo on the environmental-friendly Kira Kira or Akomo Isseki; it runs all electrical systems from solar panels to reduce emissions. During these 8 days, you will have 17 dives- with night dives available on request. You will visit the less-explored Batu Moncong on the boundary of the National Park with epic sunset views of Gunung Api Sangean in the background. This trip also includes a visit to Komodo Island to see the fabled Komodo Dragons.

Everyone is welcome on board no matter what level of certification as the site will be chosen to meet your diving ability. Meals will be a selection of freshly-cooked Indonesian and Western meals, along with the catch of the day, and freshly baked bread plus treats throughout the day. You will be rewarded with their signature beach BBQ on the last night of the trip. The boat caters to a maximum of 8 passengers in 4 cabins (3 twins, 1 double bed for more comfort), so you can expect a more bespoke diving experience and services onboard. The boat offers a camera station on board.

Day 1: Labuan Bajo - Sebayur

Today you will do a check dive/ snorkel near Sebayur Island.

  • 10:00 AM: Start Of The Trip From Labuan Bajo - Upon collection from the Harbourside, the crew and cruise the team welcome you aboard, after a short tour and explanation about the ship and your safety on board the crew will be setting up the dive/snorkel equipment and checking you in to your cabins.
  • Kira Kira will set sail at midday in the direction of Sebayur as you enjoy a light lunch together.
  • You will do a check dive/snorkel near Sebayur Kecil before late afternoon beach activities. Take a walk on the sands, a swim in the shallows or jump in a Kayak whilst looking forward to a delicious fish supper and the first
  • of many breathtaking sun-scapes.
Day 2: Sebayur - Tatawa - Siaba

Today you will check out the ultimate underwater formations, complete a night dive in Pulau Siaba.

  • After a light breakfast, you will do two dives/snorkels around the small Islands that make up the Komodo World Heritage Site,
  • explore beauties such as Tatawa Besar, Tatawa Kecil and neighbouring islands if the weather permits.
  • Enjoy lunch, Kayak, relax on the beach and await late
  • afternoon/nightfall where you will be guided into the darkness for one of Komodo’s best night/critter dives on Pulau Siaba. A rare chance to search the Staghorns at Sunset, or the Mandarin Fishes or even decrypt the ever-changing shape of the Mimic Octopus.
Day 3: Siaba - Pulau Mauan - Karang Makassar

Today you can expect to see Manta Rays that inhabit the reefs of Karang Makassar

  • Start the day with an early morning drift along the shores of Siaba, a rare opportunity to visit the reef before
  • others do, enjoying the myriad of fluorescence left from the night before and the steady arrival of frenzied feeding fish.
  • After breakfast and with favourable winds, you will endeavour to hoist the sheets for a short sail past Pulau Mauan, diving if the currents permit.
  • Thereafter, you await the arrival of the intrepid population of Manta Rays that inhabit the reefs of Karang Makassar.
  • Snorkel or dive with the most graceful creatures the park has to offer before the boat set sail South of Komodo.
Day 4: Komodo Island - Loh Niang/ Loh Namu/ Batu Tiga

Today you will see Komodo Dragons in their natural habitat

  • In the early morning, you will visit Komodo National Park, escorted by a local Ranger in search of the fabled beast, the Komodo
  • Dragon, the largest lizard on the planet. This is the only place in the world you can see them in their natural habitat
  • and enjoy the fascinating panorama of the island.
  • Lunch
  • Followed by two dives/snorkels perhaps exploring the underwater seascapes of Loh Namu and Loh Liang or even the famous Batu Tiga, before anchoring for the night in one of the incredible bays around Padar Island.
  • Dinner and drinks under the star-filled sky.
Day 5: Hot Rocks - Batu Bolong - Gili Lawa Darat

  • North or South of this pinnacle rocks.
  • Gili Lawa Darat sets the scene after lunch. Visit The Passage, a thrilling drift through the channels of the current born islands or kayak around the Mangroves. You could hike the hill in Gili Lawa after completing the water activities.
Day 6: Gili Lawa Darat - Batu Moncong

  • Sail towards the distant Batu Moncong.
  • Sets us up for a day of deep walls, and exposed sea mouths.

Day 7: Gili Lawa Laut - Cauldron/ Crystal Rock/ Castle Rock

Today you will explore the underwater Mecca in Komodo with wide species of fishes and corals.

  • A three dive/snorkel program will be tailored around the currents that make the waters of Komodo a Mecca for all
  • diving/snorkelling enthusiasts. With over 1000 fish species and 300 different corals underwater. You will
  • explore the sites around Gili Lawa Laut, dive/snorkel The Cauldron, Crystal Rock and the world-famous pinnacle Castle Rock. Finish the day with incredible tropical sundown, a secluded kayak over the shallow reefs and perhaps a beach BBQ.
Day 8: Komodo National Park - Labuan Bajo

Wrap up the trip with one last dive!

  • Over hot coffee and breakfast, you will discuss with cruise director on the theatre for one last dive; final mission together into the depths.
  • After a final feed and a slow cruise back to Labuan Bajo, the last exchange of photos and memories. The crew and Kira Kira will say their fond farewells and escort you to the Harbourside for drop off.
  • Last dive time: 11 AM
  • Expected harbour arrival time: 3 PM
