We stay at this hotel for three nights, and had to say this hotel really has beautiful views from inside and out. Every spaces at this hotel have been carefully designed to please every guests from the lobby, jetty, pool, and other places. Services from staffs are also the best, they love kids and always ask what my kids wanted and greet us whenever they meet us. I love anyone who love kids! Special mention to Pak Rahmat and Mas July, they really give their best to all guests, and also our room attendant, Fanti, that always look after our hydration by giving extra bottle when we ran out the previous day. All staffs also running covid-19 protocols consistently, but regular cleaning/sanitizing at common used properties like tables, sun loungers, and etc should be more often. At the first two days, our breakfast were made by order, not much of a choice but taste good. At the last day of our stay, there was buffet with more choice, a wider variety but not really that much, Ayana should improve their breakfast menu in terms of variety to cater more guests taste. For dinner, we try to dine at both Rinca and Hon Zen, taste were good, the pricess still quiet reasonable. For activities, we do swimming and sunset kayaking. Staff was really helpful by taking us picture using paddle board. Kids club is well built, but the toys should be well maintained, my kid looks for Lego but the staff tells us it was missing. I need to mention that being a hotel with location far from city center and no to-do-things around, hotel should have scheduled activities (paid or included) like kids activities (which I found nothing at the kids club during my stay), local culture lesson, crafting, cooking class, yoga, archery or much else to keep guest occupied. Overall it is really great stay for me and my family, will come back for sure after this pandemic ends.

it was an amazing, all is fantastic, had a good time and it's unbelievable we just had our precious moment and in a precious place like this. the hotels provide a beautiful view, a good quality of services, a good food, and ambience. nevertheless, if you are planning to go for the short escape or if you are on preparing the honeymoon, you should put Ayana on the list, never regret and will be back for sure! :)

First, the hotel really saved the day for us. My wife and I flew all the way over from the US, only to find out that hotels.com had cancelled out reservation and not told us; but thats another story. Not only did Ayana find a room for us, but for less than hotels.com. The grounds of this place has amazing views at almost every point. They have almost everything you need on site. We were able to watch the fruit bats at sunset during our hotels sunset cruise. We had beachside dinners every night, actually choosing which fish, lobster, etc we wanted cooked for us. The hotel arranged a boat for us over to Komodo island, then to pink beach, padar island for some photos and few extra stops for superb snorkeling. Not to mention the reef snorkeling right in front of the hotel is still top notch. We had an amazing experience and would highly recommend to anyone.

Our stay at Ayana Komodo was an experience we will never forget. We recognized that our room is upgraded on the 4th floor with breathtaking view, many thanks to Pak Totok! They also prepared details decoration in our room with all beautiful flowers arrangement, decorated bath tub, and our picture in ethnic frame! Such a lovely and warm welcome. The food was amazing! You can feel that they give priority to the taste, presentation, and our satisfaction. Thank to Chef Richard and all Rinca Team. You're so lovely guys. The most unforgottable moment during our stay is that everyone was trying their best to make us happy and feel special, big smile all the time. All the staffs we met were humble and polite. All small gestures they made, touch my heart. Great service indeed! Also, every spot in this hotel is instagrammable! Very nice and well maintaned. Will be back to ayanakomodo for sure, hopefully next time with our big family. Thank you Mr. Sudarwanto (Pak Totok) for your help and kindness, thank you all staff, thank you Ayana!

Helpful Questions from Other Travellers

Q
How much are Komodo National Park fees?
A
Komodo National Park fees are complicated. They depend on: the islands visited (which is weather dependent), whether it's a weekday or a weekend, whether the guest is a foreigner or a local, and the number of people on the boat (as ranger fees are shared). This is why no two people will tell you the same number when asked about fees! The fees are also complicated by the fact that they're set by the national government and paid directly to Jakarta. So there is little visibility on changes from time to time. This is why we usually advise international guests to bring cash of between IDR 350K to IDR 460K per person per day for weekdays and between IDR 400K to IDR 520K per person per day for weekends. This is more than you need, but it avoids you ending up short of cash if the boat doesn't have too many people or the fees suddenly change! A few of our trips include the fees in the price. You can see it listed in the inclusion list. If this is the case there is no need to bring cash with you.
Q
Can I still visit Komodo National Park in Jan-March rainy season?
A
While you can still visit Komodo National Park during the rainy season in Jan-March, there is a higher risk of boat trips being cancelled due to the weather. The risk is lowest for the 1-day speedboats (as they are more stable) so if you are going Jan-March, we would highly recommend doing a 1-day speedboat trip. Although the 2D1N trips and some 3D2N trips are still sailing during the rainy season, there is a slightly higher risk that they might be cancelled due to the weather. Given the unpredictability of the weather, the cancellation could happen at any time (even the morning of the trip). We will keep you updated as soon as we can if the weather prediction is not favourable for your trip. If your trip is cancelled due to the weather, you can choose to receive a full refund, OR reschedule your trip for the next day (if weather permits). So if you're travelling from Jan-March to Komodo, please plan some extra days for your trip so you have additional days to try again, even if your original trip is cancelled!
Q
Is the itinerary guaranteed?
A
The itinerary for Komodo National Park is very weather dependent, as the journey takes place out in open waters. Some days the currents are very strong, and it might not be safe to go to certain islands. We know this can be frustrating if you had your heart set on specific spots, but please be assured that the boat operators will do their very best to make sure you see the dragons and the highlights of the park - even if it's not identical to the itinerary here. A visit to Komodo is quite the adventure, so please do be prepared to embrace some level of uncertainty!
Q
What should I pack?
A
Change of clothes
Flip flops
If you're snorkelling, do bring ankle socks (as fins can rub on the back of your ankles)
Insect repellent
Sunglasses and Hat
Sunscreen
Swimwear
Toiletries
Towel
Trainers
Trekking shoes or Comfortable walking shoes
