Me and my brother dove with Azul (3 fun dives and open water course). Sarah took good care of us and is an excellent teacher. The gear is brand new as well as the boat and they tell you a lot about the marine life. They are a well established dive shop, although they have only been around since a year or so! Definitely recommend. Moreover, breakfast and lunch is included and tasty.
I was in the Komodos doing my divemaster training with another shop, Wicked, which is also incredible, but as they only have live-aboards, we worked with other shops for day trips. My DMT buddies and our instructor went out for a day of fun diving with Azul, and it was a great experience. Their boat is fantastic; very well laid-out and comfortable. The team provides thorough briefings and does an excellent job of guiding underwater, even when conditions get a bit hairy, as they were when we dove Castle Rock during a super crazy current day. The food is also tasty. Highly recommend heading out with them if you're in the Komodos!
Ah what a great experience I had with this AZUL dive shop.
to begin with as not so experienced diver I thought of going to Komodo park for scuba diving. But after review and suggestion I came to know that it is really challenging to dive there due to unpredictable current & few sites for OWC and novice divers like me. After searching the net for dive shops, few are not so responsive or gave me limited dive site option. Then I came across this Azul Unlimited shop. They are more responsive and adjustable for my requirement to explore the Komodo island. More over the vegetarian food served on board which attracted me more. Finally I decided to go there during Nov 18 to 22 for diving.
My first experience at their shop is very welcoming and found that they have all brand new equipment and well maintained. The boat look to be new and well designed to accommodate around 10 divers. one can enjoy sun deck and rest on bean bags. They also choose dive site depending upon ones experience and took care my part very well as I initially told them that not like to fight the current. All sites they took me in my four days of dives were very good except for few negative dive at Crystal and castle rock site where I was totally exhausted fighting the current. Here I found marine life and coral is comparable to Raja Ampat.
About the dive guide my guide cum instructor Aitor is class apart soft spoken, dedication, well experienced all made me at ease under water and always felt at safe hand. Because of this quality of him I did not hesitate to go for negative dive. He at times showed rocks to hold on during currents for watching Mantas. I am totally satisfied with his approach of handling the divers like me under water. At Azul they work as a team and all are good communicators be it a pre dive briefing with beautiful drawing. They give max information like corals /type of fish depth current etc which help you off hand to prepare for yourself. Laura the other instructor is amazing n friendly and good at yoga with her flexible body did showed us few Yoga Aasanas on board between dives.
The four dive days I spent with them is memorable one and felt as one family especially with my fellow buddy Fermin( he spoke only Spanish) Trainee Joan, Judith with whom I spent gala time after the dive also.
there are lot more than this to write but some where I have to stop.
But one thing if any one wants to dive in Komodo waters I insist to go with AZUL Unlimited and I am sure you wont be disappointed. Its My recommendation and I vouch for it. The Boat crews are all very good and cook did cooked delicious vegetarian food especially Egg plant like it.
I thank Aitor Sara and Laura for making my trip a memorable one I like that more than dive shop owner and staff are good Human Beings that makes them apart from other dive shop which I saw over the years.
I once again thank Aitor Sara Laura Joan, Judith, Benni and other boat crews and office staff.
Have great days ahead.
Wow! What a great day with the Azul Unlimited team. We are seasoned divers but our travelling companions were interested in doing DSD. The team at AZUL was fantastic and totally accommodated all of us for an incredible day diving the waters around Komodo.
The owners/instructors are great and relaxed divers with great experience from around the world. The vibe on the boat is relaxing and restful allowing you to chat and take in the beauty of Komodo National Park. Instructor Lara and DMT Judith were incredible with our friends who were a bit nervous for their Discover Scuba but they had an amazing first few dives with Mantas and a dozen turtles. So, of course they are ready now to get certified! My husband and I dove with co-owner Sergio who was relaxed and fun to dive and chat with. I really appreciate the relaxed atmosphere that they are building with their shop, not chasing after too many people in one day and keeping the ratio of instructor to diver low. We were there in the shoulder season so the 4 of us had the boat to ourselves plus 4 DMT's.
Under the water was amazing! We saw dozens of turtles over the 3 dives and 11 mantas at Manta Point.
If you are looking for a few days of relaxing diving in Komodo before or after a liveaboard or just land based, I really recommend these guys!
I went with Azul team on snorkeling trip.
Very professional center. Contact and booking process smooth.
Boat in excellent condition. plenty of space, plenty of food and drinks.
The team had prepared my snorkeling gear with perfect size, excellent condition as well.
I have been made comfortable on board. Had plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful sites and enjoyed the time in between. Met very interesting people.
As an improvement I suggest that the center adds a briefing about the fish and corals species we may see at each site. I had that included while diving in other countries and it was very appreciated.
All the best going forward.
