Friendly guide, good food and a very nice cabin. Having a small group was nice, had fun. Itinerary is basic but managed to avoid crowds as much as possible. Great value for money.
Disliked á Name of cruise company and cabin was different from what was shown on booking. Not in a bad way, just different.
Halong Bay is beautiful, albeit very busy. Our tour guide was very bubbly.
Disliked á The boat and our room was NOT the same as the one shown in the photos. It was very worn and run down, and our room was not very spacious even though weÕd paid more for a ÒdeluxeÓ. The itinerary felt rushed, meaning we didnÕt get any downtime in the bay or to enjoy the sunshine on the deck. Some of the Òhappy hourÓ drinks cost more than they do outside happy hour? Sad hour.
The price was really reasonable. We got what was promised in the reservation. The bus pick up was really luxurious and comfy. The tour guide was very helpful and the staff on board was great.
Disliked á I understood that this was a budget cruise but I did not expect the boat to look rundown. The outside appearance of the boat looked bad with peeling paint. The room was comfortable but the bathroom faucet was loose.
Halong Bay was probably a most amazing site to behold before it became over-used by cruise ships. Though boats are relatively small-scale, the impact is great on this gorgeous bay with mountains emerging. There is garbage floating, the island you can climb to the top at sunset is a disaster....freeway up & down. Best part was kayaking away from boats and among the mts. The impact of so many people on this fragile environment is great and I hate to think of how bad it will be in the future UNLESS they limit number of boats..
Thanks to our tour guide, Quang! The cruise was comfortable with excellent food and service. Cave exploring and a visit to the beach at Titov Island (with the opportunity to ascend to the summit) were highlights of the tour, along with a visit to a pearl farm followed by kayaking around the Bay.
A recommended experience for all!
