The Sapa Sisters Trekking Adventures was amazing! The trek was extremely well organised and our guide Su was awesome - lots of fun, very informative and experienced with the area. We did the overnight homestay which I would definitely recommend, it really enhanced the experience! The 'long' trek was quite difficult at times due to the steep incline and decline and we went at the end of November so the rice paddies had be cut so they weren't green but the view and scenery was still incredible!
I did the two day/one night trek and was so happy with my guide and the sights. Sapa is absolutely beautiful and I completely fell in love with the scenery. My guide, Pa, was absolutely fantastic! She would ask me if I wanted to do an easy, medium, or hard trek at various points and would take me on the trail that fit my response. I chose to do a harder trek and she took me through the rice fields and along the river. The "easy" way was generally a paved path where you saw lots of other travelers. I've done tons of hiking so I wanted more of a challenge where I didn't feel like I was with a bunch of other people.
The homestay was nice. Very basic and cold. I'm happy I packed my down jacket and extra layers because I needed them. I felt like i was one step above camping.
Overall it was an experience I won't forget. I met lots of nice people at the homestay and really enjoyed my trek.
We did a 3 day trekking trip with our guide, Mo. She was very kind and friendly and spoke English very well. Since we wanted to avoid the touristic sites, she lead us to narrow paths and trough the rice paddies which we absolutely loved. Except for the lunch breaks and in the homestays we rarely met any tourists. We also learned a lot about the Hmong tribe and their everyday life. The homestays we were sleeping in were also good. Clean, friendly and quiet. We read a lot about other women trying to sell their goods and therefore following you all the way and we were also informed about this by Sapa Sisters before the track. We were followed by one older woman but after a few minutes we kindly told her that we wouldn't buy anything and she left. We didn't have any problems with that at all. We would totally recommend the three day trekking with Sapa Sisters and esecially with Mo!
I cannot recommend Sapa Sisters enough (and this is coming from someone who’s not usually interested in organised tours!). We had a wonderful private trekking tour with the lovely Bla and enjoyed every bit of it. You get to really experience the local culture and be taken to some quiet areas where you can see the beautiful landscapes. I should probably note that the treks themselves can be slightly challenging if you’re not used to long walks, but the tours are very customisable to your abilities and interests. Thanks to Bla and the Sapa Sisters, Sapa was the highlight of our time in Vietnam!
I did a 3-day one person trek with Big Pang from Sapa Sisters, and it was without a doubt the highlight of my entire trip to Vietnam. Big Pang explained all about the Hmong traditions and cultures, led me through trails that were away from tourists (which i wanted) and made sure that i was doing well and enjoying the trek! It really was an amazing experience, and getting to walk between the rice patties, bamboo forests and villages, really exceeded all of my expectations. Sapa Sisters and Big Pang were beyond helpful and they were the key factor that made my trip to Sapa so very special. Would recommend Sapa Sisters to everyone I know.
