After reading Trip Advisor reviews we decided to book with Ajith's Safari Jeep Tours and we were not disappointed. They were exceptional. Everything ran smoothly We are avid nature and wildlife lovers as well as photographers so this was the highlight of our Sri Lanka trip. We did 4 days of Safari (1/2 day Udawalawe, 1/2 day in Bundala and 3 days in Yala). We were picked up from our accommodation on time and driven to the park just before it opened so we could get in as soon as possible (best time to spot leopards). We stayed the entire day each day so made the most of it. Special Mention to our driver Nissanka. He was a great driver, safe, friendly, caring about nature, knew the roads well, knew where to go, enthusiastic, responsible and had Superman like vision. He spotted a Leopard while driving that even with my 400m zoom lens I could only see after digitally zooming in on the image. Incredible!!! He was very patient with us as we took lots of photos and was never in a hurry, always checking with us before we moved on. Our Yala guide's name was Udara. He spoke moderate English, but was really nice and really enthusiastic which was great. He was knowledgeable about the park and a great spotter. We liked him so much we asked for him to come back again each day with us. Spotting - We saw pretty much everything. Around 10-15 Leopards, including Baby Leopards!!!, Lots of elephants, deer (spotted and samba), peacocks, one sloth bear in the distance, crocodiles, jackal, eagles, hawks, hares, mongoose, monkeys, water buffalo, hornbills, bee eaters, storks, wild boar, and lots of bird species. - If you want to see any photos (including baby leopards), check out my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/colindavisphotography Food. Nothing flash, but we were happy. - Breakfast: 2 sandwiches of egg, 2 small sausages, a hard boiled egg, a small packet cake and an apple - Snack: Juice, Water and a packet of biscuits - Lunch: Curry with rice, beans, dahl, potatoes, chicken. Then watermelon and pineapple - Drinks - Esky with some juice and water. Truck was clean, reliable and pleasant to be in. It was only myself and my partner in the truck as well as the driver in the front and the guide in the back with us, so plenty of room to move I would strongly recommend them.

My wife and I did a 2 day safari in Yala, Bundala and Udawalawe Wildlife sanctuary with Ajith Safari Jeep Tours. It was well organised, the pre-safari communication was clear and reassuring. We had a great driver and guide, Anushka, who was knowledgeable about the parks/animals and drove really well. We learnt so much from him and he went out of his way to make sure we had a great trip. No hesitation in recommending Ajith Safaris - sorry our review took a while but no reflection on the trip - we had a fantastic, exciting time and feel very lucky. Thanks to the Toyota Hilux jeep, we were able to travel on roads where other vehicles would have gotten stuck in the mud. We even managed to see a leopard and Anushka arrived exactly at the right moment and placed the car such that it would approach us directly, without disturbing the animal. He knew not only the big animals, but also all the birds and plants, making our tour extremely instructional. The lodge ( Ajith Safari Lodge ) we stayed at were good, we were offered new deluxe room and went with standard and were very pleased with the choices. A huge thank you to everyone at Ajith Safaris for making this, our first trip to Yala, so special. I would recommend this safari company to anyone.

Ajith is without doubt the best safari operator in the Yala area. His jeeps are new and well-maintained. His drivers are careful and friendly. We have just done a morning safari to Udawalawe national park which is less crowded than Yala and has huge herds of elephants. It was a wonderful experience. We only saw 4 other jeeps the whole time in the park. We came extremely close to elephants protecting their babies. Even doing safaris in Africa I have never come so close to elephants. Our driver Nissanka was very polite and friendly and took great care to steer our jeep away from the worst bumps and dangers such as thorn bushes. Ajith's office in Debarawewa is brand-new and extremely clean and it was a pleasure booking our safari in such nice and professional surroundings. Much nicer than being flagged down in the street by touts trying to sell you a dodgy jeep safari. I would recommend Ajith highly and will definitely use him again.

This was our first time safari and we were traveling with three kids (11, 10 and 3 years old). We were looking for three safaris that would please all our needs especially for our kids. We just got the perfect taylor made offer to Yala whole day and 2 half day trips to Bundala and Udawalawe. We were lucky to see 3 leopards in our Yala whole day tour and many elephants in Udawalawe tour that our kids love so much. Our driver Anushka was just perfect, totally understood the mode of doing a safari with kids. He had great humor and was very well educated...so we had pleanty to talk about...the kids liked him very much. He spoted several leopards which are very rear for us and guided us through our very best adventure. We would and will recommend this safari company to anyone at any time. They listen to you and work hard on forfilling your dreams. Thumbs up!! Hoping that we'll be back some day and see more..

Starting from the very first contact via email Ajith was so kind with us. He tried to understand our needs and requirements and offered a 2 days trip covering Yala, Bundala and Udawalawe national parks. Everything was perfect from the start to the end of our safari. Also our driver and guide was the best :) We have seen all the animals we were expected to see. This should be your choice if you plan to do an exciting trip to Yala :)
