My four friends and I recently stayed with Su and had an incredible first time in SaPa! Su made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and continued to do so until we left. Su did an amazing job of showing us around - taking us to refreshing waterfalls to swim in, through bamboo forests, and to spots with some of the most spectacular views of SaPa. She also made sure throughout the entire trip that we were well fed, hydrated, and comfortable with the pace of the trip. In addition to her own hospitality, her family and friends we stayed with on both nights also made us feel extremely cared for and prepared some of the best meals I’ve had since arriving in Vietnam! Can’t thank you enough Su for all of your hospitality and encourage anyone to reach out to Su for any of your SaPa tour guide needs!
Su is excellent: she is happy to accommodate to your schedule, flexible, fun, dynamic, and smart. She answered the thousands of questions I had about rice culture, told us about local food and customs. We even had dinner at her house with her kids. I contacted her ahead of the trip, she was very responsive and she created an itinerary to fit our request. We spent three days with her in Bac Ha and were very sad to leave her and the mountains. I couldn’t recommend her enough to anyone wanting to explore the rice paddies away from the tourists.
Si runs her own business and provides great insight into her ethnic community. Walking with her, we discovered her extended family and friends, slept at some unique homestays and trekked the beautiful landscape is the Sapa region. Su is very flexible let and accommodating, she communicates very effectively and she has a great sense of humour.
We arrived very early in Sapa where Su picked us and took us to her homestay for great pancake breakfast and off we went off beaten trail on 2 day private trek. In about 5-6 h except local people we didn't meet any tourists. Had a good local lunch with great view of rice terraces and later in afternoon come back to her homestay for relax and great dinner with her family. We drank beer exchanged stories and go to know how locals are living their life. One of really best experiences in Vietnam.
A tip, if you arrive with early morning bus (4am) ask Su to pick you up at Sapa as there's nothing open at that hour.
Sapa Su and her family gave us the best experience we’ve had in all of Asia, if not ever. I had heard great things but I didn’t expect it to be this good. Sapa Sue was easy to work with in the planning of our trip but during is when we really got to know her. She is so friendly and outgoing and her English is amazing. She took us on treks that weren’t touristy and it felt very authentic. Her home is clean and comfortable and the showers have hot water. Her family cooked an amazing Vietnamese dinner and we all took shots together and had a lot of fun getting to know them as well as their adorable children who could not speak English but were playing with us and had such great personalities. I couldn’t imagine not doing this with Sapa Su, she truly is a wonderful person and every penny spent was worth it. Thank you Sapa Su, coco loves you!
