We went as snorkelers on the trip and we had been prewarned that manta rays were not likely as we were a bit too early but decided to try and see if we got lucky. On the first site we had our own personal guide and saw a blue spotted ray and some colourful fish and corals. As we left we spotted a manta coming to the surface so we did not see it snorkeling. On the second site we started by spotting a turtle and then amazingly 8 manta rays circled round us multiple times sometimes within a meter or 2 and a black tip reef shark also swam by whilst we were watching them. We then went to Rinca and saw a load of Komodo dragons. The staff were really friendly and the food was great. We would definitely recommend them and do another tour with them if we are in the area! Only thing to remember is that you need to make your own way there (not a problem it's really easy to get to)
I recently spent 6 days diving with Manta Rhei in Komodo (early September). It was still high season, so I was expecting too many people, too little space on the trips and the dive sites and a high dive guide to guest ratio. I was pleased to be very, very wrong.
Every single day was amazing. Their boat, Yolande, is comfortable, relaxing, and spacious. More than enough room for a full house of guests, their equipment, guides and crew. The crew have incredible attention to detail, and the equipment is set up immaculately every time. I rented all of my equipment from them, and it was good quality and in very good condition.
Food and drink on board Yolande is plentiful, tasty and catered to dietary requirements. Breakfast doughnuts and post dive waffles and cake were highlights!
I can't say enough good things about the organisation. Manta Rhei are very careful and clever about grouping guests, and we were grouped according to capability and objective, with a maximum of three or four guests per guide; all at a similar level, so we could all enjoy the dive together and not feel (no pun intended) out of our depth with the group. The knowledge of the dive sites shone through, as it was incredibly rare to be bumping into other divers on the sites, even though it was high season and numerous boats were leaving Labuan Bajo daily for dive trips to the headline locations.
Guides are professional, calm and caring, and the dive sites are chosen well to cater for all abilities. The boat will be moved around to ensure everyone is diving within their limits / capability. Guides know the dive sites inside out, and if you're worried about facing the (in)famous Komodo currents and conditions, but want to dive there for the unbelievable under and over water scenery, then don't be put off. Manta Rhei will deliver the best experience. Safely and competently.
I had such a great time, and can't be positive enough about them. To put it into perspective, I have already booked again with them for another 6 days as soon as I can get the time off work...
If you plan to live in Labuan Bajo and do dive trips into the Komodo National Park, look no further. Great dive shop with very friendly owners who run the dive shop themselves and explain and clarify all your queries and questions. Although i am a DM and had all my dive gear with me, the rental equipment was well maintained and in great condition. You dont have to lug the equipment around as the staff will transport the equipment to the boat and set it up for you as well. The boat is brand spanking new fast boat making the travel times slightly shorter. the boat is huge and definately one of the nicest i saw in Komodo. Everything about the boat is big and really comfartable- the diving platform at the back, the lounge area, the upper deck with beanbags and matresses. Loved it. The food and beverages on board are really nice as well.
I was diving with Echo- an Idonesian dive instructor for my entire 7 days of diving and was really happy with his skills and his regard for safety for all divers. His briefings were great and had safety as a major priority. All in all, Manta Rehi is definitely the most organised and professional dive center i have dived with. You cant go wrong if you decide to dive with Manta Rehi.
PS- they have awesome t-shirts as well.
Went diving with this dive center and it was amazing!
I dive different spots and everyday it was mind blowing.
The new boat just arrived, it’s so comfy and you have everything you need on board.
Places to chill out, delicious food, snacks all the time, free coffee, tea and Softdrinks.
The staff is very friendly and funny.
The guides really know what they do and you can enjoy every dive as much as possible.
Thank you for this amazing time with you guys
I had my very first diving experience with Manta Rhei diving center and had an amazing time both on the boat and in the water. I did two discovery dives with Indi as my instructor. He was friendly, patient, explained everything very clearly and really made me feel safe and at ease while diving.
The boat was brand new and had a great crew! The food was delicious (we were spoiled with breakfast and lunch AND got snacks after every dive).
I never thought I would try diving in the first place, but thanks to Manta Rhei (and Indi specifically) I am actually thinking of getting certified.
I can definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a great diving experience in Flores!
