We looked around and heard so many different recommendations and we were quite confused! Decided to just go with Cat Ba visions. We are really glad we made this decision and really enjoyed ourselves. The crew/staff was very helpful and friendly the boat was very clean and a great atmosphere. The activities we did throughout the day was great. A key thing that we liked was that it didn’t visit monkey island and support the cruelty of the animals. They also supply clean towels

We opted for the 2 day 1 night tour around halong bay, which included a night at a floating homestay and it was amazing! The first day started with getting picked up and going for a cruise in the bay, then stopping for some swimming and an amazing lunch. There was so so much amazing food! Then we went kayaking and snorkelling after lunch before going to the fish farm. Here we learnt all the interesting things about fish farming in halong bay and this is where we stayed for the overnight homestay. We had a private room with en-suite bathroom which was great! Amazing views out onto the bay. Dinner was delicious with fresh cooked squid. Then we went kayaking at night to see the plankton who glowed! This was a definite highlight. Finally the next day we started with lovely breakfast, some kayaking and swimming in an enclosed lagoon and then back to cat ba for a lunch. Overall amazing tour which was very well organised with so much included. I would definitely recommend to do the overnight homestay (but be warned it envolves lots of kayaking - so quite tiring). Special thanks to our amazing guide Huy who stayed with us the whole time and was truly great! Great sense of humour and nailed the sarcasm!

We had an amazing experience with Cat Ba Vision. They were exceptionally professional and helped us with everything they could (especially Trang! Thank you again) including booking us a bus back to Hanoi and pointing us in the direction of a great place to stay. We went on the 2 day/ one night tour and stayed on a great little floating homestay. The food was delicious, our room was clean and wonderfully presented. The water was tranquil and there was no problem with motion sickness. A highlight for us was kayaking and swimming with the bioluminescent plankton. It was an experience we will never forget. Swimming, jumping off their new cruise boat, kayaking- all truly wonderful. Thank you again and I hope to be back - soon!

We had a private boat tour. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were ready to adapt a bit the program they made for us. The food was plenty and good. I don't put 5 stars because there was an issue with the boats (we didnt have the promised boat in the beginning of our tour), we were supposed to spend the night in a quiet secluded area, but there were many other boats around and Bai Tu bay on the 2nd day was a bit rushed.

According to a local conservationist we met during our stay here there are only a small handful of tour companies on Cat ba that are actually registered. He recommended Cat Ba Vision of those because they skip Monkey island. For ethical and safety reasons we are glad we listened to his recommendation (research it and I think you'll come to this conclusion too). We did the one day tour leaving from Cat Ba to go out into the different bays. Pros: Their company skips monkey island. The ship is nice. Towels and water are included. There is a huge family style lunch that's quite tasty. Our guide (Guh or Kuh, he said his name was really hard for foreigners and he was right) was very informative and spoke english quite well. He was also just a lot of fun. We swam, kayaked, chilled and jumped from the boat. We visited some sites as well. It's a perfect mix or relaxing, information and adventure. The company was very professional in every aspect and gave the best exchange of Dong/USD I have seen yet. They don't even ask you to review them/ask for 5 stars like most tours in Vietnam do. 10/10 would do again.
