My husband and I booked a private 1 day trek with Sisi and it was absolutely incredible - definitely a highlight of our trip. We don't typically like organized tours, but she was so informative, warm, and didn't rush at all during the tour. For the price and the information she was able to add, and knowing that our money was going directly to a local Hmong-owned business instead an agency, it was 100% worth it to go with Sisi.
We trekked from Sapa town through three minority villages and stopped for lunch along the way. During the tour Sisi explained local customs, differences between the various tribes, history, answered any questions we had and pointed out herbs and plants along the route so we got a well rounded picture of the area.
The only downside I would say is that she had 2 local women trek with us and when we got to their village the expectation was that we would buy crafts from them. Their prices were high compared with other sellers and we felt obligated to buy from them. We saw this as a sort of tax for visiting the area and supporting the local economy. It didn't change our overall experience, just something to note.
Regardless, if we ever come back we will definitely book another tour with Sisi and highly recommend her to anyone visiting Sapa.
A MUST!!! We had a truly wonderful time exploring this incredible area with Sisi. She was welcoming from the moment we met her, with excellent English (praise from two English teachers!) and her great local knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed walking for two days with her, she goes at your pace and always seeks to make the trip perfect. She gave us time and space to enjoy an amazing place but was always there to give insightful information and help in anyway she could. Thank you Sisi!
We wanted to experience the hill tribe villages but did not want an extensive 2 day trek through the rice paddies. Although not her standard tour, Sisi arranged a perfect getaway for us, with a separate itinerary for the afternoon we arrived and one for the following day. In an excellent and clear English she told us all about the 3 villages we went to and gave us a taste of tribal life in one day. This made it possible for us to see the amazing scenery and enjoy an interesting hike at our own pace. Thank you Sisi for an unforgettable journey!
The couple of days we spent exploring Sapa with Sisi as our tour guide were definitely the highlight of our trip to Vietnam. Sapa is a beautiful and fascinating place to visit and Sisi was a wonderful guide. Local to the area, she is very knowledgeable and was very generous with the information she shared, happily answering our many questions. She is very friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed her company as we went on wonderful walks through the area. We would definitely recommend Sisi to anyone visiting Sapa.
We booked our tour via the hotel we stayed in, didnt know what to expect. But we were met by this lovely local woman name Sisi, who took us on a daytour. We had a really great time walking through 3 villages, and even extra tour since we were walking so fast :)
Sisi speaks very good english and was able to tell us a lot about the locals in the area, their way of living and so on. If we ever should visit Sa Pa again, we would definitely go with Sisi. Will definitely recommend her to near friends and others visitors.
