I had an awesome time at Manju‘s! The accomodation has everything you need for a good surf vacation and Manju and his family are awesome hosts! Great food also, especially Sri Lankan breakfast, which they serve from time to time if the group asks. A great place to meet cool people and enjoy a laid-back atmosphere as well as really great surf teaching and guiding! And so comfortably close to the beach also!

We had a great time surfing at Weligama. We stayed with Manju and his very accommodating family right at the beach. The food was delicious and the surf lessons everything we could ask for. Small groups and dedicated instructors

There is no better place to eat, sleep, surf and repeat. I know that there are a bunch of trendy surf houses/hostels popping up along the beach, but, you are doing yourself a serious disservice by choosing one of those over-priced places instead of surf n lanka (the original surf school to open along the southern coast by one of the first surfers to pioneer surfing here 15 years ago.) Because this place is the real deal, it attracts awesome people. I met so many incredible humans while living at surf n lanka, which made my time in Sri Lanka that much more memorable. About the surf house: Manju (owner & surfer) and his family are what make this place so great - treating you like a friend, not a customer, from the minute you meet them. The rooms are clean and large (pictures do not do justice), house is surrounded by beautiful gardens and breakfast is served every morning by the sweetest Sri Lanka women with huge smiles on their faces. Accommodation is also half the price of the other places along the beach. 10/10 value for your money. About the surfing and instructors: top notch and the best of the best. Sami is hands down the best surf teacher I've ever had (lessons are also the cheapest in town). I cannot say enough good things about Sami and the other teachers. I'm still blown away at how quickly my boyfriend and I improved after just a few lessons with Sami and surf theory classes taught by Manju. Tip: they offer a 6 day surf package for about 350 euros including 2 lessons per day, accommodation, breakfast and dinner. It was 100% worth it for me.

Stayed with Manju for 7 days with BIG Package. Surfing for the first time. Totally enjoyed it. Surfing spot is right across the road on Weligama beach. I took 2 lessons a day: 7.30AM and 4.30PM. Nice and outgoing instructors Lahiru, Ashan, Gura. They will support and help you individually every lesson. Very thorough theoretical lessons and practice in the ocean right afterwards. Extraordinary dining. Fruits / eggs / toasts for breakfast. Rice / Curry / Vegetables for dinner. You will not be left hungry. Overall - pleasant and affordable place to stay, learn surfing and enjoy local beauties. Thank you Manju and guys!

I went here on the off chance that someone might be free to give me an introductory lesson. I had the amazing Ashan, who right from the first lesson, had me standing and totally hooked on surfing. So much so that I came back and had a lesson everyday for the rest of the holidays. All the instructors at Surf n Lanka seem friendly and enthusiastic with good English but I only had lessons with Ashan who rightly deserves his nickname of ‘The Surf Professor’. I had 5 fantastic one-on-one lessons with him where I progressed incredibly quickly from standing up to managing turns at the end. His English is really good, as is his patience and humour (which helps!) He was able to help me identify and correct the mistakes I made, was encouraging and congratulatory when I did well and never stopped gently pushing me to progress, practice and develop my skills. He also taught me so much about reading the sea and the waves. I can’t wait to return to Sri Lanka for more surfing lessons at Surf n Lanka and thoroughly recommend.
