I and my friend hiked Mt. Fansipan in Sapa, Vietnam and had a very good experience! Joey of The Terrible Tour Guide has been very responsive and helpful from the planning stage. He's NOT like the other travel agencies who will mostly make you feel like they just want business with you. Joey, whom I met via couchsurfing, made every effort to give us the best yet cheapest options. He also willingly customized our itinerary to make sure we see the sunrise at the summit of Mt. Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina! When it came to hiking Fansipan, they provided us with an amazing tiny strong young guy from the Hmong ethnic community who, though only speaks conversational english (which is more than enough btw), made sure we had a great hike. Loved the food our guide prepared for us each time! If you are looking to hike Mt Fansipan or simply trek around Sapa, get in touch with Joe right away :)

Our family and friends went Hanoi, Sapa and engaged Terrible Tour guide. 20 of us ranging from 10 years old to over 70 years old. It was really a very fun trip for the young, the old and the in-betweens. Huy, our guide was fun loving and gelled with the group. He led us through some nice trekking paths in SAPA and we challenged ourselves in the trail. Fansipan was also a real highlight as we took the cable car to soar above the clouds. The local Food Trail is also most enjoyable as Huy brought us on a walking tour and ate many local food. We will definitely be back with the Terrible Tour Guides....

We spent a week in Vietnam last May which was amazing. Joey who organized our customized package was fantastic, he was always quick to respond to my request prior to departure and even met us at our homestay on the morning before our first day of the trip. The guides and drivers assigned was very knowledgeable and safe. They took extra care to make our trip perfect. Our guides always went the extra miles to make the tours enjoyable for the children. We are very impressed with our experience with The Terrible Guides and can't wait for next adventure with them again

During my first visit to Vietnam, I wanted to go hiking in the countryside and see what rural life is like while learning about the people in the northern part of the country. The Sapa tour was exactly what I was looking for and turned out to be as interesting and informative as I'd hoped! The tour guide was absolutely wonderful. She was professional and knowledgeable, and I learned a great deal from her. She was very clear with instructions, as well. She welcomed questioned and constantly offered information about the land and the people. She was born and raised in one of the villages we visited, so she had first-hand knowledge of the area. The travel agency director, Tung, was nothing short of amazing. He responded almost immediately to all of my inquiries and he was always courteous and professional. He took care of all of the details, including booking my train ticket and arranging pickups and drop-offs. The cost of the tour was very reasonable, too. The homestay in which I spent a night was excellent; the owner was very welcoming and the food was awesome. The sleeping accommodations were great after a long day's hike, and the view was incredible. It was not a 5-star hotel, but that is part of its charm; it is someone's home that designed to welcome guests and it was much more interesting than staying in a hotel. Plus, it supports the local people. If you're looking for a tour that is genuinely informative and involves staying somewhere other than a standard hotel, I cannot recommend Tung and his agency highly enough. When I return to Vietnam and am looking for a tour, this is the agency that I'll call!

After spending 3 weeks in Vietnam, my climb up Fansipan Mountain is definitely one of the best memories I have. The tour was run exceptionally well: pick up in the lobby of my hotel, transport to the base of the mountain, a fantastic guide (Chu), food and water at rest stations along the way, dinner and accommodations on the mountain. After getting back to Sapa, I was exhausted and managed to leave my phone in the taxi. I reached out to The Terrible Tour Guide and within half an hour I was reunited with my phone. I can't recommend him highly enough!
