We took a one day tour to Hà Long Bay and they were very punctual at our hotel to pick us up. Our group guide Robert was very friendly, funny and respectful. The food was good and a lot, we were all hungrig but there was tons to eat. Ha Long Bay is an amazing and very beautiful place to visit. I'd totally recommend this company for a visit to this place.
This is our first visit to Vietnam and a visit to Ha Long Bay. Tour duration is only one day. Delicious food, enthusiastic guide recommended introduction.
Tom is very informative, and knows how to make us all stick to the schedule. He also throws in fun facts every now and then to make the trip more interesting. The entire tour is worth the money, as I was able to get to do a lot. Maybe a little improvement on the food. But all in all is an awesome experience.
We booked this tour through Klook to Halong Bay and our tour guide is Harry. He is quite humorous and always put up his smiles. He tried his very best to joke with us and made us laugh (Although it took me a while to understand his jokes :p). He also tried hard to get us to remember his name, so he said he has the same name with Harry Potter, he is as handsome as Harry Potter, but he doesn't know magic. [Alright, Harry, we got your name, I saw my friend commented you in her review, she gives you full marks, congrats :) ]
Our tour guide, Harry is friendly and knowledgeable. In the bus, he told us about Vietnam War as majority of the tourists voted to hear this history out of 3 options. 1st option, he would keep quiet throughout the 3 hours journey (and he said our driver, Trung would definitely like this option); 2nd option, he can share with us the history of Vietnam for 15 minutes, i. e. the formation of Vietnam, the meaning of Vietnam, the kingdom of Vietnam; 3rd option, he can tell us the Vietnam War for 20 minutes. Although majority of the tourists voted the 3rd option, he still gave us a brief of Vietnam history and Ho Chi-Minh's life.
At Halong Bay, he told us the formation of Halong Bay on the legendary part of Halong, where once upon a time, a dragon family descended from the heaven and helped the local to fight a war in this area against the fierce invaders coming from the North by sea. "Ha” （下）means descending and “Long” （龙）means dragon. “Ha Long” Bay literally means the bay of the descending dragon; and the geology part of Halong Bay, in which about 500 million years ago this area of Vietnam was a deep sea, submitted to the constant activity of tectonic plates, which underwent periods of inverse-motion that created mountains deep under the water. The tectonic activity raised the entire region from the depths, and making the sea shallow for the next 100 million years or so. The islands of Halong Bay are all cut in sequences of folded finely-grained limestone created about 300 million years ago.
Harry took us to Thien Cung Cave (Heaven Cave) which was discovered in 1993 by a fishermen who stopped by this cave area to avoid the storm and accidentally explored this large cave when he saw the monkeys jumped into a narrow cave hole and followed them. He entered the cave and found that it was a large cave with numerous stalactites and stalagmites, it formed a heavenly view with the sun rays through cave stock shined on the pillar form of stalactites and stalagmites, it looked like a palace in heaven, and thus the cave is named Thien Cung (天宫）, means the Palace of Heaven.
The driver, Trung is a safety-conscious driver, I slept soundly in the bus during the 3 hours journey back to Hanoi.
Overall I enjoyed the trip organised by this company.
We took a day tour in ha long bay. Bus transfer and lunch was provided. Our tour guide, Benjamin was extremely helpful and professional! He spoke good English, had some funny jokes and ensured that everyone in the tour group had a great time! Ha Long Bay was beautiful and will definitely recommend my friends to visit!
