Find hidden food spots (and the best bun cha ever) with a passionate local guide
Skip the typical food stops that tourists always go to. This Hanoi street food tour takes you to hidden, hole-in-the-wall spots you’d never find on your own - including what might just be the best bún chả you’ll ever taste in your life, tucked-away in an alley and grilled right outside a family home. This is as authentic as it gets. You’ll walk through Hanoi's Old Quarter, trying 7-10 insanely good dishes that range from well-loved classics to the unexpected. What we appreciate the most is that this Seek Sophie food tour isn't just about eating yummy dishes, it's a deep dive into Hanoi's street food culture. Your passionate Seek Sophie host will show you how to properly eat Banh Xeo, introduce you to dishes you’ve probably never heard of (eel noodles, anyone?), and explain how history has shaped the way Hanoians eat today. If you’re someone who loves discovering places most travellers miss, wants to support small family-run stalls, and prefers a personal touch over big group tours - this is the food quest for you.Seek Sophie tip: Definitely come hungry! And as tempting as it is, maybe don’t finish the bún chả (you can share a bowl!) - because you’ll want to save space for the many dishes to come next. What to ExpectTaste authentic Vietnamese street food dishes, including the best Bun Cha you’ll ever haveLearn the rich backstories behind each dish and discover local culinary traditions with your knowledgeable guideExplore the historic and atmospheric Old Quarter as it comes alive in the eveningVisit both well-known favourites and hidden local gems you’d never find on your ownComplimentary hotel pick-up and drop-off within the Old Quarter for a hassle-free eveningGood to KnowCome hungry! Meet your host
Hi, I’m Jonathan Ngo. Growing up in Buon Ma Thuot, Vietnam’s coffee capital, I was surrounded by coffee farms and the dedicated farmers who bring each bean to life. That connection inspired me to start my business in 2023—not just to share Vietnam’s incredible coffee but to support the farmers behind it through fair-trade and sustainable practices.
Workshops are just part of the experience. Join me, and you’ll step beyond the roastery to explore the real coffee culture of Hanoi. Through coffee walking tours and food tours, you’ll see how locals brew, drink, and enjoy coffee on the streets. From a classic phin drip at a tiny sidewalk café to a rich egg coffee in a hidden alley, you’ll gain a whole new appreciation for Vietnamese street coffee.
For me, coffee and food are more than flavors—they’re stories of culture, tradition, and community. Through every cup and every bite, I hope to share the true heart of Vietnam with you.
