Camp under the stars, jungle cooking, & night safari with expert jungle guide!
Ever wanted to fall asleep to jungle sounds, cook with bamboo over an open fire, and learn real survival skills—far from crowds and tourist trails? This overnight jungle trek in Khao Sok National Park was created by Jaja, one of the area’s most respected jungle experts.Jaja grew up in this rainforest and learned hunting and survival skills from his father from the age of 9. Known for his extraordinary ability to read the jungle—tracking animals, recognising calls, and even sensing which creature has just passed—he was once considered one of Khao Sok’s most skilled hunters. Over time, he chose to protect the wildlife he loved instead, dedicating his life to conservation and sharing traditional jungle knowledge.Today, Jaja dedicates his time to training and mentoring a small team of local guides. Some come from jungle or hunting backgrounds, while others are local community members with a strong interest in nature. All guides are personally trained by Jaja, learning the same survival techniques, tracking skills, and forest ethics that define this experience.Your trek will be led by one of these hand-trained guides, ensuring the experience stays true to Jaja’s knowledge, values, and standards. You’ll hike around 3km through dense rainforest to Bang Hua Rat Waterfall, learning practical jungle survival skills along the way—from identifying edible plants and useful herbs to reading animal tracks and forest signs. After lunch by the waterfall, you’ll continue deeper into the jungle to set up camp (either near a stream or further inside the forest, depending on conditions). Your guide will teach you how to rig a hammock and prepare a traditional bamboo-cooked dinner over an open fire.As night falls, head out on a guided night safari, when the jungle truly comes alive. Listen for nocturnal calls, look out for glowing eyes, and experience the rainforest from a completely different perspective before settling in for the night under the stars.Wake up to birdsong and distant gibbons, with fresh coffee and breakfast waiting. Before heading back, you’ll learn how to break camp responsibly and leave no trace—leaving with new skills, lasting memories, and a deeper appreciation for the rainforest. What to ExpectLearn jungle survival skills: identify edible plants, explore wild herbs, and track hidden wildlife.Trek with expert local guides trained personally by JajaSee the forest come alive with the help of expert guides. Meet your host

Jaja was born in Khao Sok, where his father was one of the rainforest’s most respected hunters. From the age of nine, Jaja learned how to track animals, read the jungle, and survive in the wild. He eventually became one of Khao Sok’s most skilled hunters himself. But the more time he spent in the forest, the more he realised he loved the animals he was hunting. He didn’t want to kill them anymore. Today, with 18 years of guiding experience, Jaja leads travellers through the rainforest, sharing his extraordinary jungle knowledge. He has also trained a team of former hunters to become guides — creating sustainable jobs that protect Khao Sok instead of harming it.
