Enjoy the warmth of a family-run farmstay and overnight on a floating rafthouse
If you want to see a different side of Khao Sok away from the usual tourist trail and experience the epic floating rafthouse, this cosy little farmstay + rafthouse combo is perfect. You’ll live with a local family, eat the yummiest home-cooked meals straight from the garden, and spend a night on Cheow Lan Lake in a floating bungalow surrounded by jungle. The first part of your trip is at a family-run farmstay, hosted by four sisters who’ll make you feel like part of their home. Hidden away from the main street, it’s super quiet and surrounded by butterflies and gardens. Jui, your Seek Sophie host, used to work in hotels but traded it all to grow food and welcome guests with her sisters — Sa, Sunny, and Chom. Together, they’ll feed you like royalty (crispy fried chicken, rich curries, fresh fruit platters, and veggies straight from the garden) and teach you how to cook authentic Thai dishes in a super fun cooking class! Then the adventure continues with a night on Cheow Lan Lake. You’ll stay in a simple floating bungalow, wake up to mist rolling over the water, trek through the jungle to a waterfall or a cave, and head out on a sunrise boat safari to spot wildlife. In between, there’s plenty of time to swim, kayak, or just sit back and watch the sun set behind limestone cliffs. This 3D2N trip blends the warmth of Thai family life with the wild beauty of Khao Sok’s lake — soulful, adventurous, and seriously unforgettable. What to ExpectA warm welcome and comfortable stay at Jui's family-run farm. One night stay on a local farm, and one night stay in a floating bungalow on the tranquil Cheow Lan Lake.A hands-on cooking class using fresh, seasonal ingredients from the garden, culminating in a delicious homemade Thai dinner.During your Cheow Lan Lake boat trip, you will be accompanied by a local long-tail boat driver who speaks very limited English. He will be able to help you locate wildlife, however he may not be able to share a lot of in depth information.A jungle trek to a hidden waterfall or cave (depending on the season and weather).Delicious meals featuring fresh, local ingredients.A peaceful morning boat safari to spot wildlife in their natural habitat.Opportunities to relax, swim, or kayak on the lake.Khao Sok's weather can be unpredictable, so be prepared for sudden rain showers, especially during the wet season. Bring a lightweight rain jacket and embrace the changes, as they can add a refreshing element to your adventure!Important Notes About Overnight Trip on Cheow Lan Lake: Please Read Carefully for a Smooth and Enjoyable TripYour trip will be led by a local long-tail boat driver and guide with limited English skills. While they can assist in spotting wildlife, they may not be able to provide detailed information about the area.Room Sharing Policy (High Season: November – April) : Due to limited availability on the lake, solo travelers may need to share a raft house with others of the same gender (max 2–4 people) as per the raft house policy. Couples will have their own private room and will not need to share. If you have any concerns or wish to explore other options, please feel free to reach out.During peak season (November – April), there may be up to 100 guests staying at the raft house. The lake has a limited number of trails and caves, meaning both day-trip and overnight visitors share the same exploration areas. Expect a lively and social atmosphere! The Khao Sok National Park entrance fee, pier fee, and wildlife fee are not included in the package. The total cost is approximately 540 THB per adult / 270 THB per child (subject to change based on park policies). These fees must be paid in cash, so please bring enough with you. This trip overnight trip to Cheow Lan Lake is ideal for backpackers who enjoy meeting fellow travelers and sharing experiences. Meet your host

Jui is the heart behind Ample Forest, a farm stay built on family, tradition, and genuine hospitality. For years, she worked long hours as a resort receptionist, loving the chance to welcome guests but missing precious time with her family. After her father’s passing, she made a life-changing decision to return home and focus on farming. While it brought her closer to her loved ones, she missed the joy of meeting new people. With the support of her sisters, she found the perfect balance—creating a farm stay where guests experience fresh, homegrown meals and the warmth of a family-run retreat. Now, Jui and her sisters welcome visitors like old friends, sharing their home and way of life with open hearts.
