The resort is guided by the philosophy of “low density, high value,” ensuring minimal human impact on the ecosystem while allowing wildlife to thrive.Over 80% of the property remains untouched, with reforestation efforts and an “organized chaos” landscape design that embraces the natural forest. To inspire environmental advocacy, the resort offers complimentary nature walks to guests and runs local school camps to educate children about protecting the rainforest.Key initiatives include:Local Employment: Approximately 90% of staff are hired from nearby communities.Support for Local Suppliers: Operations rely heavily on locally sourced products to benefit surrounding villages.Environmental Conservation: The resort actively reduces water and energy usage, minimizes trash, and supports reforestation efforts by planting native trees.Support education of local school children: Proceeds fund free nature camps for local school children. The Khao Sok National Park, Pier, Cave and Wildlife Sanctuary Fees are not included in the package and are approximately 540 THB per adult / 270 THB per child in total. The rest of your luggage will be securely stored at the resorts.After the program ends on Day 3, if you've booked a private transfer with us to your next destination, the driver will bring your luggage from the resort along with the van. If you've arranged your own transport from the pier to another destination, please instruct the driver to collect your luggage at the resort before heading to the lake pier.About the Lakeside Rafthouse Cheow Lan lake is a remote, adventurous destination. Though located in a stunning area, accommodation is basic; mattresses are on the floor of the raft house, generator power is available only in the evenings, and only simple washroom facilities are provided. The raft houses facilities are not to the same standard as the resort. Accommodations are very rustic and basic, featuring shared bathroom. a mattress on the floor with a simple pillow and blanket.Please be aware that there are no fans or air conditioning available.Once you arrive at the floating rafthouse, you’ll be off the grid! There is no mobile signal, so it’s the perfect chance to truly disconnect and immerse yourself in nature.Towels, shampoo, and soap are not provided, so please remember to bring your own.Electricity is limited and only available during the night for a few hours: 6:30 pm to 10:30 pmThe rafthouse doesn't have en-suite toilets - the toilets are shared between rafthouses.Cancellations & No Shows Policies30 Days Prior to Check-In Date - Full booking amount is credited/reimbursed (minus bank and transaction fees)29 - 15 Days Prior to Check-In Date - 30% Cancellation Fee will be retained.14 Days Prior to Check-In Date - 100% Cancellation Fee will be retained.The customer is required to promptly communicate any cancellations or booking adjustments to the host in writing, cancellations and amendments will only be accepted in writing by email.
