This Mount Bromo trip is perfect for travellers who want to avoid the crowds, and get a deeper understanding of Bromo.Many Bromo tours are rushed, and most guides don’t speak much English — so you leave with great photos but very little context. This is for travellers who want to go deeper. On this trip, you’ll be led by experienced English-speaking guides (Mandarin and German available too) who share the stories and history behind the volcano.And Bromo can get extremely crowded, especially at the main viewpoints. Your host knows to choose smarter routes to avoid the huge bus tour crowds - so you get space to enjoy the view properly. If you really want a much less crowded experience, we'd recommend the sunset experience instead of sunrise!Choose sunrise or sunset Most guides only provide a sunrise Bromo trip but here you can choose between sunrise or sunset at Bromo. It gets more crowded at sunrise as this is the time most travellers opt for. But if early mornings are not your thing you can even have the option to start at 11:00am and have a peaceful sunset experience.What to ExpectChoose between Sunrise or Sunset Bromo experiencePrivate, Comfortable Transport: Travel in an air-conditioned car to Sukapura Village, then switch to a 4WD jeep for the thrilling ride to King Kong Hills Viewpoint.If you choose the sunrise experience, you'll arrive before the crowds to stargaze and enjoy front-row views of the sunrise over Mount Bromo. If you choose the sunset, there will be much fewer people!Explore the Volcano: Climb 240 steps to the caldera, walk around the crater rim, and soak in the surreal landscape.Local Meal: Wrap up your adventure with a hearty local meal before heading back.Entrance fees are included.The best time for clear skies is during the dry season (May–October), though nothing’s guaranteed—it’s part of the adventure! In the event of rain, the trip will still proceed, and you will visit the crater rim of Bromo, where the landscape can still be enjoyed in a different, atmospheric way. However, if there is a thunderstorm, access to Bromo may be restricted for safety reasons, and the visit will not be possible. As weather conditions are beyond our control, no refunds will be provided in the case of rain or weather-related restrictions.Small group size of up to 12 people per one group, if you have more people, you would be split up into smaller groupsYou don’t need to be super fit—most of the trip is a jeep ride, and the stairs are manageable.Add-ons (check the add-on section of the booking form for pricing):Madakaripura Waterfall - for those who like to pack their travel days, this pit stop at the Madakaripura waterfall is a great way to do that. This add-on price includes a local guide, entrance fee, and motorbike transport from the basecamp to the entrance gate (approximately a 5-minute ride).
