3D2N Private Orangutan Safari that saves Orangutans, not just visits them
This 3D2N trip is special because it doesn’t just show you orangutans - it helps protect them. Part of your trip directly supports a local nonprofit working to buy back rainforest, rehabilitate orangutans and support nearby communities. Perfect for conscious travellers and nature lovers who care about the rainforest and want their trip to do good. You'll cruise down Sekonyer River - visiting three orangutan feeding stations and learning about their stories, behaviour, conservation efforts and the challenges of protecting them. You’ll head out on a short night trek to spot nocturnal creatures. You'll also get to plant a tree as part of the local community's reforestation efforts - planting fruit trees that will feed orangutans in the years to come.By joining this experience, you're directly supporting the conservation efforts of Yayasan Orangutan Hijau Kalimantan (YOHK). A portion of the profits goes toward protecting orangutans and their rainforest habitat - including efforts such as buying back forest land, supporting rehabilitation programs, and funding education and community empowerment initiatives around Tanjung Puting. What to Expect3-day, 2-night private cruise through Tanjung Puting on a traditional klotok boatSupport local orangutan habitant conservations efforts with part of your fees going to a local nonprofitVisit orangutan feeding stations at Tanjung Harapan, Pondok Tanggui and Camp LeakeySlow cruising past riverbanks frequented by proboscis monkeys, macaques and hornbillsMorning and daytime bird watching – spot hornbills, kingfishers, egrets and moreShort guided night trek to find nocturnal animals in the jungleTree planting – help support reforestation and leave a positive impactDelicious Indonesian meals cooked by your private onboard chef (many dietary needs can be accommodated)Opportunity for stargazing from the upper deck each eveningSleep in a fan-cooled, open-air setup under a mosquito netKnowledgeable, kind and passionate crew who really care about the forestGood to KnowNight trek terrain is flat and manageable – wear comfy, closed shoesAccommodation onboard is simple but comfortable with hot showers and clean beddingBring binoculars or a good zoom camera for spotting birds and wildlifeAlcoholic drinks are not provided – you're welcome to bring your ownTimings may shift depending on river conditions and wildlife activityAmenities/facilitiesPrivate wooden klotok boat (approx. 13m x 3m)Cold water fresh shower and fan-cooled sleeping areas with mosquito netsViewing deck for wildlife spotting and stargazingBasic, clean bedding and linens provided on board

Meet your host
Fardi is a pioneer of community-based tourism in Tanjung Puting. He started out as a hotel housekeeper and slowly worked his way up, eventually running his own boats and building one of the most respected operations on the Sekonyer River.
His journey is deeply personal. After losing his father during the Dayak–Madurese conflict in the early 2000s, Fardi chose to stay in his hometown and rebuild, creating work for his community. Today he hires locally from nearby villages, mentoring crew who have grown into guides, captains and even boat owners.
Fardi also founded Yayasan Orangutan Hijau Kalimantan (YOHK), a local conservation foundation that buys back rainforest land to protect wild orangutan habitat and prevent palm oil expansion. By joining his trip, you’re directly supporting orangutan conservation in Tanjung Puting.
