When we visited Chiang Mai ourselves, we found it so tough to find a truly humane elephant sanctuary—so many places call themselves ethical but still allow touching and bathing. That’s why we were so excited when we found Chang Chill! The way they let the elephants just be elephants, with their mahouts caring for them from a respectful distance, is so special. So glad you got to experience it too! :)
