Review Body: We loved our four nights at Plataran Komodo Resort!! We traveled here from Bali between 3 nights in Ubud and 3 nights in Uluwatu. This was our favorite part of the trip. We loved the area and the location to Komodo Islands and snorkeling, but the resort itself was the cherry on top. We usually stay at smaller boutique places, less than 100 rooms, but now I think we have a new standard of less than 20. We booked the Executive Ocean villa. we loved our room and the view of the beach. The only downfall was that it was next to the stairs that take you up to the Atlantis Rock restaurant, but there wasn't much traffic and we never heard anyone at night. All the rooms looked to have a view of the ocean minus the large villas. So I think any option would have been nice. We loved that the resort was so quiet and relaxing, yet plenty of things to do if wanted. The staff was exceptional and very sincere. There were families with kids and we saw multiple times staff playing with the children and providing great service, yet we never had the feeling that we were at resort that allowed children. The views (sunset especially) was beautiful. We ate at all three restaurants, the resort dinning (which also serves as the "lobby" which we loved), the Atlantis on the Rock next door (get the wings), and the Atlantis Beach club (a 15/20 minute ride provided by the resort). They all have similar menus, but not the same at every place, as we could only find the wings and pasta options at the Rock location. My birthday was during this trip and they did a special decoration in our room and provided us with a beach front table for dinner even though we didn't tell them we were planning to eat there that night. It was very romantic and unexpected. The breakfast was delicious each morning and probably the best we had during our trip. We decided to book a last minute excursion of a snorkel adventure with the resort on our first full day. We are so happy we did this and appreciated that they accommodated us same day. It was private and we went to two snorkeling spots and then a third location for a picnic lunch, that was over the top. We also enjoyed to spa treatments which were nice. It did seem like more people booked these in the evening and heard some people's appointments got pushed back, but we did ours late morning/early afternoon and never had a problem. We also enjoyed snorkeling at the resort (right side of the pier is the best) and saw some things we didn't see other places, specifically an eel! I hope our adventures take us back here, but I know we will be considering this brand again even if we don't come back to this specific location.

Review Body: I wasn't sure what to expect when we decided to book a night at the Plataran. Like most people, we came to Flores specifically to hire a boat to see the Komodo Dragons, and wanted a comfortable, but more upscale place to stay the night before. With those expectations, the Plataran hit the nail on the head and surpassed my expectations. That said, people should temper what they expect in this developing, though still somewhat rustic part of Indonesia. Though it's called a "resort", it's a rather small property with modest or limited extras and a more low-key feel. They have a spa (we didn't use), 2 restaurants, a gym (which is a small, glass enclosed, and air-conditioned room on the beach), a kids area, and a pool. We stayed in one of the smaller beachfront rooms (I think they are all mostly beachfront?) and it was actually really nice! Air conditioned too (that part wasn't clear from their website or third party websites), so it's nice to know that you have that option. The beach and surrounding bay are spectacular. The water was calm and warm. The sunset the night we stayed was stunning. We also found the staff to be extremely kind, receptive, and helpful. Every last one of them. The morning we checked out, we hired a speed boat (independent of the hotel) that agreed to pick us up at the hotel jetty. The hotel packed up our breakfast to take with us and one of the employees even carried our bags to the dock, which is actually a bit of a walk. Though some folks described nightly charges of $400+ a night, which is definitely steep for this property, you can find more reasonably priced rates that make more sense. And it is a bit secluded from the town of Labuan Bajo, so you mostly are stuck hanging out and eating at the hotel. Fortunately the food was very good and the surrounding are gorgeous. Plus, the town seemed like a bit of dump so I don't think you are missing much. I think I would be hard pressed to spend more than 2 nights here without getting restless, but certainly for a short term stay, it was a wonderful experience and highly recommended!

Review Body: We had an amazing stay at the Plataran Komodo. Everyone was very accommodating to our needs and wants, and the location of the hotel is secluded with a beautiful view of the ocean and nearby islands. When we arrived, our room was not ready yet so we were escorted to the spa for a free welcome massage. Then we had an amazing lunch at the restaurant. The activities coordinator Julius dropped by to say hi and asked if we wanted to do anything during our stay. Based on his recommendation, we went to Batu Cermin cave for the afternoon. Since we didn't want to visit the local traditional market, he kindly offered for us to try the local cuisine at a small restaurant instead. Afterward, he organized a private BBQ dinner on the beach. Honestly, it was a little dark and it was hard to see what we were eating, but the food was delicious and the portion was huge. Next day they organized a 5 am breakfast for us, as we were going island hopping. When we got back, they prepared afternoon tea even though it was late, but they were happy to do it knowing that we just had a long day. On our last day, they let us keep the room until 2 pm, which was very nice so we could relax in the morning and have another amazing meal in the afternoon. Overall, we were very happy with the service at the hotel. Shoutout to Roni and Julius who made our stay very memorable, as well as the wonderful staffs at the restaurant.

Review Body: In March we spent absolutely fantastic 3 nights in plataran komodo resort - me with my wife and kids. It's very quiet and family friendly place. Staff made all possible so our kids felt comfortable. Our house was just a few meters away from the ocean, it felt like a piece of paradise actually! But I think the most memorable event was a very special dinner at the beach. Every evening they arranged a table just at the shoreline with candles, flowers. And of course delicious seafood. Though I believe March is not best season to come if you want to enjoy swimming and snorkeling just outside the bay. After rains water was a bit grey with much less visibility then usual. We took an excursions to Komodo National Park and Padar, pink beach, takka makassar where water is much more clear. You can visit these places just in a day trip if you are fond of snorkeling. There are plenty of options in Labuan bajo for activities. Plus (only in high season it's fully confirmed) you may take phinisi ambassi which belongs to Plataran for 2-3 day trips to explore more. Overall I'm very happy that we fly here from Bali to escape sometimes noisy and full hotels in this little paradise corner.

Review Body: Stayed here with family for five days. Fantastic sea view, especially at sunset. Coral reef few meters from the shoreline, clean sea. Really nice villa with a common space in the middle and two double rooms each with bathroom. They have two restaurants, one with a more "western" menu and another with a more classical one, awesome view in both. Fresh fish and seafood grill every week. Great organization in terms of tours around the island, did two. The Komodo national park and manta point tour was just perfect, nothing missing, our guide had a perfect knowledge of the area. On the other tour we did snorkeling on two island not far from Labuan Bajo, had the opportunity to see baby shark and rays swimming in the reef. After that they brought us to the local fishing market, nice experience. Plataran resort provided both snorkeling stuff and a perfect meal both on the boat or on island. They provide free transfer both to LBJ airport and city. I clearly see they give great attention to customers. They even rent an entire 12 beds boat for overnight trips. Definitely considering coming back. Well done!

Review Body: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Plataran Komodo. Our kids loved the pool, and the snorkeling, paddle boating and kayaking organised by the hotel at their beach. The staff deserves a special mention - they were so accommodating of our food requests (thanks Ellin and Eggy) and provided tips on where to eat and what to do (thanks Pak Feri). The restaurant staff happily gave us a wonderfully packed breakfast early morning one day since we were going on a day long excursion. We enjoyed eating at both the restaurants. Atlantis on the rock has a relaxed atmosphere with good food. We were first put in one of the smaller family villas which was lovely itself. We had some issue with the bathroom on the second day and were promptly shifted to the larger, more luxurious villa as they had availability and the bathroom problem couldn’t be solved quickly. We really appreciate that gesture. We’ll be recommending this resort to our friends and hope to come back one day.

Review Body: Having stayed here for 10 days, have to say that this resort gives a very memorable experience to us. We were very well taken care of from the day we were picked up from the airport till the day we left Labuan Bajo. Can't thank you all enough for the warm greetings, friendly & smiley service, and genuine sincerity from the Plataran Komodo team.. :-) And the food was great and delicious. The afternoon tea time & snacks were nice complimentary from the resort. We love how the resort is ideally situated at Waecicu beach with its nice snorkeling spot right from the jetty. We were able to spot many fish & healthily grown corals just around the jetty area and along the pier bridge during the day and enjoyed our night strolls along the pier while seeing sea urchins and school of fish given its clear sea water. We truly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come back again

Review Body: A surprisingly laid back but luxurious resort. Only 15 villas so the service was exceptional. Staff could not do enough for you, nothing was too much trouble. Our villa was a traditional one and massive with an outdoor bathroom you could get lost in with trees growing through the roof - it was so big though carefully covered so no bugs shared it with you! I’ve seen so many sunsets in my time I can be complacent but the 5 we saw were breathtaking. Food was excellent with a seafood bbq at Atlantis on the rock and fabulous crab at Xanadu. Loved the bihun Goreng for breakfast. Insect repellent lotion in room and mosquito fogging every couple of days indicated the care of guests. Highly recommend platoran komodo. Thank you for a very relaxing end to our Indonesian adventure.

Review Body: We had an incredible getaway at Plataran Komodo Resort. It's the perfect place for couples. The staff here are lovely and very friendly. I love how the resort provides equipment for various water activities like snorkelling, paddle boarding & kayaking. In room restaurants are great value for money and have a large range of options from western food to indonesian food. We stayed in a beautiful ocean front villa and slept to the sound of the calm waves. The resort also has a newly renovated spa which was a great space for relaxation, as well as special experiences like sunrise picnic on the hill & sunset beach dinner which we absolutely loved. Definitely recommend for a romantic holiday or couples getaway!

Review Body: This was our first visit to Indonesia for our honeymoon, and the Plataran Komodo team couldn’t have made it more pleasant. The staff knew us by name, kept our rooms cleaned and helped to plan activities. Free paddle boarding and snorkeling helped to pass the time in paradise. Some days it felt like we were the only people at the resort, which was great. The nights were more lively when people were back from their excursions. Only downside is the shuttle doesn’t run after 6:15 pm for pickup from downtown and restaurant can be a bit expensive, but the food was very good quality and the staff definitely earned the extra cost as the service was top notch. We wish we stayed at plataran when we left to Bali!

Review Body: We had an amazing stay at the Komodo Plataran in May 2019. The area of the resort is at one of the most beautiful beaches on the main island of Flores with an amazing sunset. The staff is super friendly and speaks fluent English, which makes the communication very easy. The deluxe beach villa was spacious and super cozy. The resort has two beautiful and delicious restaurants, a gym with seaview and a pool area. On top of that we were able to do plenty of activities, like kajaking, stand-up paddeling and sunrise trekking. Our highlight was a trip to the local markets of Labuhan Bajo and a traditional Indonesian cooking class at the Atlantis Beach Club.

Review Body: We spent 4 magical nights here. The staff were amazing, everyone was so helpful, the food was great (mostly local) and the room was divine. The place is remote but the location is incredible! For my boys this was a trip of a lifetime, we saw Komodo dragons, incredible snorkelling, hiked up Padar for amazing views & swam with manta rays. Another highlight was the day trip organised by the resort which included a picnic in a treehouse on a private beach (yes, just us!) and Rangko Cave.

Review Body: We stayed here 2 nights while visiting Komodo Island. The beach is right outside your front door. It was our wedding anniversary and they decorated our room in the most wonderful way. The hotel has a schooner that can be rented and the group we were with had not just rented the boat for the day to take us to Komodo Island to see the dragons but the hotel set up a fantastic gourmet lunch on a deserted island. Such luxury and service. Just loved the laid back atmosphere

Review Body: Plataran Komodo is a fantastic getaway if you are looking for pure tranquility. We stayed for 2 nights before heading further into Komodo. Our stay here was fantastic, a beautifully clean beach with two great restaurants. The food from start to finish was exceptional and the Seafood BBQ on our first night was a highlight! Staff were extraordinarily friendly from start to finish. Highly, highly reccomended

Review Body: The cost of the hotel transfer is high compared to general transportation costs in Indonesia and is unavoidable because transportation is necessary to reach the secluded Resort from the airport. There was an unpleasant smell at the Atlantis on the Rocks restaurant when we ate there one evening, which somewhat marred the otherwise great dining experience. The private location of Plataran Komodo Beach Resort was excellent as was the very spacious and well air conditioned room. The four pillared bed with mosquito netting was exceptionally comfortable. The two restaurants were beautiful situated with a great view out to sea and nearby islands. The service was also outstanding ... a hall-mark of Indonesian people is their genuine friendliness and hospitality, which was very evident at the Resort. It was a real pleasure to stay at this lovely facility.

Review Body: We love everything about this hotel: - the staff was incredibly friendly, they even help us sending us the money we left behind - the food was very good even though is more expensive than the local restaurants - the breakfast (included) was amazing - we got the best villa, in front of the beach with a private swimming pool, and the villa was clean, very comfy and big - I got a welcome massage of 7 minutes which was much appreciated - the equipment is great (paddle, kayak, snorkeling gear ...)

Review Body: Airport transfer was not included, while the other less expensive hotel/resort provide it as free facilities The villas are beautiful Indonesian traditional Joglo house. It has spacious room and especially in garden villa, the bathroom is huge. The staffs is super friendly. The facilities for water sport like canoe, paddle board or snorkling is OK. Breakfast is not a buffet but an ala carte all you can order...hehehe :) We stayed here between our trip to Komodo Island (one night before the trip in beachfront villa and one night after at garden villa). Thanks for the free 60 min massage, we love it!

Loloh or jamu traditionally is believed to give a good impact on our health. Our team will be delighted to show you how to make this wellness drink.
