Review Body: From Malaysia: Although it's a 45-minute drive from town, it's absolutely worth the trip! ✨♥️ The host was warm and welcoming, gave me a tour of the village, and even prepared dinner. The pottery master was patient and passionate, making this a truly unique and authentic experience. I can't wait to receive my finished pottery piece by mail! 😻 Although it's about a 45-minute drive from the city, it's definitely worth a visit! ✨ You can experience traditional pottery making and immerse yourself in the village's cultural atmosphere. The host was very enthusiastic, showing me around the village and even preparing dinner. The pottery master was very patient, carefully sharing his skills. Looking forward to receiving my finished pottery piece by mail! 😻

Review Body: (You can make cats, but also cups or vases, anything you want!) Our trip to the Jingtiancun village was absolutely amazing. We were met at the entrance of the village by one of the hosts, and he took us deep inside the old village along beautiful old houses, small temples, and pottery manufacturing houses. The pottery making itself was super fun, and Master Zhao helped us with a lot of patience. He's a true master and it was incredible to meet him and his friends and family. You pay for the pottery experience, but what made this experience worth remembering was the hospitality, the sweet people, and the master craftmanship. Highly highly recommended!

Review Body: Our family of four booked the Pottery Village online the night before. It was an authentic experience. We visited the centuries-old dragon kiln, made our own tile cats, and enjoyed the simple, traditional craftsmanship. We also had lunch in theowner's courtyard. The other travellers were very friendly. Highly recommended!

Spend a day with Bai artisans in a pottery village most travellers never see.
Dali is famous for its old town and Erhai Lake, but some of its most interesting stories are hidden in the villages beyond. About an hour away is a Bai village where families have been making pottery for over 600 years — and the craft is still part of everyday life today.Spend the day exploring the village with local artisans. Step inside historic family courtyards, walk into the hills where villagers source their clay, and see a traditional dragon kiln used to fire ceramics. Along the way, you’ll hear how generations of families have shaped, glazed and fired pottery here, and how the craft continues to shape village life today. You’ll also sit down for a home-style lunch with a local Bai family before trying the craft yourself, making your own piece with a village artisan. It’s a lovely way to get beyond Dali’s usual sights and spend a day experiencing a living village tradition that most travellers never see. You'll take home a handmade ceramic keepsake crafted by the village artisans. If you'd like to keep the piece you make yourself, glazing, firing and international shipping can also be arranged separately. What to ExpectVisit a Bai pottery village with over 600 years of ceramic heritageExplore historic family courtyards and village lifeWalk into the clay hills where the pottery beginsSee a traditional dragon kilnLearn from artisans carrying on generations of family knowledgeShare a home-style lunch with a local Bai familyMake your own pottery piece with a village artisanTake home a handmade ceramic keepsakeGood to KnowVillage is approximately 1 hour from central DaliSome walking around the village and clay hillsSuitable for complete beginnersYour own piece can be glazed, fired and shipped for an additional cost

Lerne deinen Gastgeber kennen
