Review Body: This was a lovely workshop working with natural Dying materials and silk cloth to make a scarf. I went with my 10 year old, and we learned about each ingredient and it’s color, and about the culture where it originated. After this learning, we got to make our own pieces! We had also ate delicious snacks from a nearby cake store. We went to visit and see that store in process, which was a great additional opportunity. All in all, this was a delightful way to spend a morning, and I highly recommend it for all ages who enjoy learning about traditional Dying techniques.

Review Body: This was easily the highlight of our time in Hanoi. Just a 30 minute drive from the CBD, we were welcomed with such warmth and genuine hospitality. It was an authentic cultural experience and creating our own silk scarf was relaxing and we came home with a beautiful handmade keepsake. Even better, it’s a wonderful community initiative, so you know your visit is making a positive impact. If you’re looking for something unique that’s away from the usual tourist trail, I couldn’t recommend this experience more highly.

Review Body: We spent a beautiful and fun afternoon at Hoa Tien Brocade, learning about Thai minority practices of natural dye-making and weaving. We enjoyed the hands-on experience of dyeing and patterning our own silk scarves as well as trying out the weaving loom. The highlight for us was enjoying the company of Tinh and Mai, who showed us great hospitality and warmth. Highly recommend the workshop for anyone looking for a meaningful, relaxing, and creative time in Hanoi.

Review Body: We had a really lovely morning with Mai, and her family . I learnt such a lot about about the natural materials used to make the dyes. Under Mai' careful instruction i made a beautifully dyed silk scarf to take home to my Mum. It is 30 minutes outside of Hanoi, and a little difficult to find, but we'll worth the effort. Highly recommended.

Learn natural dyeing from Thai artisans and make your own hand-dyed silk scarf
In a cosy studio on the outskirts of Hanoi, learn from master artisans of the Vietnamese Thai ethnic group and make your very own hand-dyed silk scarf. For the Thai community, dyeing is deeply connected to nature - it's done using traditional, all-natural techniques passed down through generations. You’ll learn from master Thai artisan Sam Thi Thinh, who has been dyeing and weaving since she was 14. As she guides you through the process, you’ll see how plants, trees, and other natural ingredients are used to create different colours, and hear the stories behind this intricate craft. You’ll also see how their patterns reflect everyday life, and how dyeing helps preserve their culture and heritage. Then it’s your turn: get hands-on and make your own 40x40cm silk scarf. Throughout the session, enjoy light local snacks in a relaxed, intimate setting - perfect for slowing down and creating something meaningful. What to ExpectLearn the traditional dyeing technique using natural ingredientsCreate your own 40x40cm scarfGain an understanding of Thai traditions and culture
