Review Body: This is a great way to gain a perspective on village life outside Hanoi in the Red River delta. Huy was very articulate and well informed about the history and life in this part of Vietnam, and made the whole experience very interesting. We were conducted through the city and into some tiny country roads in a comfortable, but exciting way on the back of a couple of motorcycles, which provided not only a great view, but also a way to see parts of the countryside which would be inaccessible by car. We were treated to a delicious traditional lunch in a private home, we visited a couple of village centers, drove through the paddy fields, saw a lotus farm, and finally braved the Hanoi traffic to be dropped back at our hotel. The bikes felt safe, the drivers were careful, so we could focus on the experience. A big part of the tour was the conversation with Huy, who not only shared information about the places we visited, but also shared something of his own life. His openness made this a unique and valuable experience.

Review Body: The ride from the city to the countryside was fantastic. We stopped every so often to soak in sights and learn the historical and cultural relevance about the area. John is a knowledgeable and funny tour guide. He is respectful, polite and even made sure we were comfortable with topics or discussions so that he wouldn't offend. It's a great tour and although I'm sure they do them often, it felt personal to the details we shared with him. John is a gifted tour guide as he found ways to tie our lived experience into today's experience and relate them in a very authentic way.

Review Body: It's a great half day to explore a bit more of the countryside. A great way to get out of the city centre for a bit. The food is really good, they select some more authentic dishes you wouldn't normally think to find yourself. On the day the guide changed last minute to Tuna which was a blessing in disguise! He was very knolwdable and shared the stories and myths from Vietnam throughout the day as we rode around the country. The ride and the stories about the land and temple we went to from Tuna made it very worthwhile!

Review Body: An absolute delight of a tour with our guide Doanh (John). We loved his stories about local customs mixed with personal anecdotes- and he had us in fits of laughter all through the tour! We explored villages outside Hanoi, experiencing rural life and Vietnam's imperial past. The home-cooked meal at our hosts' house was a highlight - delicious, filling, and unlike anything else we'd tried. A shoutout to Loi, our fantastic second driver! If there's only one tour you do in Vietnam, make it this one 😊

Review Body: Excellent tour to explore the surroundings of Hanoi. We both had amazing drivers who navigated the busy traffic with expertise. My driver, Snow, was incredible and had lots of extra information to share with me about Hanoi and Vietnam. Our guide Oggy was very knowledgeable. The lunch at the beginning of the tour was amazing with lots of vegan options. Make sure to pack an appetite! Driving through the rice paddy fields was lovely and peaceful.

Review Body: I booked the day before and we were picked up right outside our hotel. Chris and Q were amazing guides and scooter drivers, navigating the traffic safely. I never once felt worried. We had a stop at historic temple and museum, followed by a delicious lunch with local family cafe. It was a great way to spend a few hours and would highly recommend to others looking for a fun, interesting way to spend the morning or afternoon.

Review Body: This was fantastic. John the tour guide was very friendly and informative. As were all the drivers. Our three boys (14, 12, 11 yrs) loved it. We felt completely safe at all times on the back of the vespas and the side cars. The farm tour was interesting and we learnt about agriculture in Vietnam. The king temple and coconut drink was a new treat. Lunch was great too in a local home. Highly recommend.

Review Body: I had a great tour with Huy! I was the only one of the tour and we had a great time together. He told me many interesting facts and stories, and he even made some videos for my students back home. The lunch was delicious and the lady was so sweet. Driving around the countryside was very peaceful. I would love to share some pictures, but they are not uploading for some reason.

Review Body: Would recommend this tour for a fun half day out. It’s nice to get out of the city and enjoy the views and cool morning air. Our guides (Summer, Winter, Snow and Spring) made us feel safe and we had a good laugh. Had a great homemade lunch as well where we met the cutest kittens Ice Cream and Chocolate. Sadly didn’t get a chance to meet their brother Garlic. 😂😂🩷

Review Body: My tour with Oggy was amazingly easy going, relaxed and fun! Oggy is a good conversation maker, knows a lot interesting facts to share and is a most kind-hearted person. I learned a lot at the two temples, ate a lot at 'grandma's' place, and exchanged a lot with Oggy about both our cultures. Thank you Oggy!

Escape the crowds and ride a vespa to explore Hanoi's countryside
Looking for a countryside escape from Hanoi? Hop on a vintage Vespa and escape the Old Quarter - in just 30 minutes, you’ll be in Hanoi’s countryside, where you’ll see locals working the rice fields, buffalo roaming freely, and farmers going about their day. While many travellers stick to the usual city sights, this experience gives you a glimpse of rural Vietnamese life. Riding on the back of a Vespa is also super fun - you’ll cruise down tiny country roads and reach places cars simply can’t. You'll explore hidden village paths, learn how farming communities are adapting to urbanisation, and visit the ancient Co Loa Citadel - a spiral-shaped fortress dating back to 280 BC. Believed to be the mythical birthplace of ancient Vietnam, it’s said to have been built by a king with the help of a golden turtle. You'll also enjoy a yummy home-cooked Vietnamese lunch at your guide's house - super cosy and a lovely way to end this experience. This is perfect if you’re curious about everyday life beyond the city, love learning about culture and history, and want something a little different from the usual Hanoi itinerary. What to ExpectRide a vintage Vespa through Hanoi’s lively streets and quiet villagesCross the iconic Long Bien Bridge with sweeping views of the Red RiverGet an intimate glimpse of rural life - rice paddies, farmers, and water buffaloVisit the ancient Co Loa Citadel and hear stories from Vietnam’s mythic pastEnjoy a delicious home-cooked Vietnamese meal with a local familyLearn how urbanisation is reshaping countryside life around HanoiGood to KnowThis is a join-in small group trip lasting around 4.5 hoursComes with a licensed driver, English-speaking guide, helmet & rain ponchoUpgrade to a Jeep if you’d prefer not to ride pillion on a VespaLunch, drinks, and entrance fees are all included - no hidden extrasPick-up and drop-off available in Hanoi’s Old QuarterThis tour is designed for you to sit back and enjoy the ride with our professional Vespa drivers, so we don’t recommend self-driving.
