Review Body: We booked the “2D1N” package, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. We arrived very early at the meeting point, where Mr. Yoo welcomed us warmly. The farm was an absolute dream – peaceful, close to nature, and a place where you immediately feel at home. Then the real adventure began: the transfer to the pier and from there a longtail boat ride to the national park. Everything was perfectly organized, fast, and hassle-free. The boat ride itself was incredibly beautiful, and upon arrival, food was already waiting for us. The tours are optional, but especially for a first visit, they are definitely worth it. Even if you travel alone, it’s easy to make new friends. All staff members were friendly, helpful, and always in a great mood. The rafthouse is simple but still cozy and well equipped. We will definitely come back! Thank you very much for this amazing experience.

Review Body: Amazing experience! Don’t expect luxury - if you’re the kind of person who is easily upset with less than ideal conditions then this isn’t for you. With that being said, all of the employees are incredibly nice, friendly, and hardworking. The tour itself is fun although somewhat uneventful at times, I personally would have preferred to skip the morning safari in lieu of kayaking as we didn’t really see any animals. Beds and food are obviously not going to be like the shangri la, but what do you expect being in the middle of nowhere! Most of the complaints I heard on my trip as well as in other reviews aren’t accurate; assuming you came prepared as the trip instructions suggested, and that you’re able to be grateful for the little things. Overall I would greatly recommend this trip. Support these hardworking guides and get yourself an incredible trip into the wilderness!!

Review Body: We loved our farm stay the night before our day on the floating bungalows! The owner picked us up at the bus station and was so nice and happy. We also did a cooking class there where we were taught how to cook in the 80’s in the jungle. Everything was also homegrown. A fun experience. Everyone had great English and we were helped so much with recommendations and our next destination. The trip to the nationalpark was organized well and overall nice. A simple bungalow as described and nothing to complain about! The food was good, but could have been better. But if you have in mind that they were cooking for so many people at the same time, you can’t complain. The guides were very enthusiastic but sometimes a little hard to understand, but with some hand gestures you understood it as a whole. Would recommend!

Review Body: An amazing adventure! The hosts were all very kind, and made sure everyone got a chance to see the animals and take lots of pictures at the front of the boat during one of the scenic tours. Tips if you’re going: a travel hammock would have made a world of difference for stargazing from your cabin’s front porch. Grab a kayak. There aren’t many and there’s so much wildlife to see just a short 5-10 minute paddle from camp. We skipped the afternoon boat tour to go kayaking instead and had an incredible experience away from all the tourists. Say tons of monkeys, including a large family bathing and hunting in the river. Truly magical. Note: This trip is for people who are willing to rough it a bit. If you’re a backpacker or seasoned camper it’s quite comfortable.

Review Body: Highly recommend!!! The experience was great from the start with pick up from the hostel. The van was comfortable and A/C was cold. Entry to the park and then getting to the boat was very smooth, waited about 5 min to get on the boat. Bungalow check in was also very easy and fast. Tour guides were great. Very informative of what was happening for the day. You were never left wondering what’s next. Also, they had very welcoming personalities and very funny. Thank you Ton, Ton & Toung(sorry for the spelling). They were always happy to answer any questions you had or get what was needed. Thank you so much for making this experience THE BEST!!!! The banana & Oreo snacks were great as well. Drinking water was always available. Do not pass up this opportunity.

Review Body: This was a very well organized tour. We had a lot of fun meeting new people in a group setting. It kind of felt like a summer camp for adults even though I'm sure kids are welcome they're just did not happen to be any with our group. The jungle trek was cooling. Our guide was very knowledgeable showed us where to look for animals along our boat safaris. I wouldn't complain but I think the only difference I would have done is come earlier than end of April when it was HOT! I believe a battery powered fan would have helped us a bit. We did end up with a beautiful thunder shower in the evening which cooled us right off. Overall this is a fantastic two days! Oh and the food was simple but really quite delicious for being prepared in that environment.

Review Body: This is perhaps my favourite experience in Thailand. The lake has very similar vibes to Halong Bay, but with a lot less of the crowds. If I had to choose one - I would come here. But the best part about this trip is the possibility to see elephants in their natural habitat (surprisingly there's not that many of those spots in Thailand!). We were super lucky to see them both during the evening safari and the morning safari - where we saw 4 or 5 of them!! Two super cute baby ones. Of course that is not guaranteed so you can't expect it. The raft houses are super basic in terms of facilities and data may be spotty. Definitely no wifi. It's a great opportunity to disconnect for a night! Highly highly recommend!!

Review Body: Lucked out big time with Mr. Yoo! He sorted out everything for my Khao Sok trip – cooking class, chill homestay, and a dope tour around the national park. Went in October, super quiet vibes! Explored some caves, but it's a hit or miss depending on the weather. Lucky for us, the tricky cave was open, and damn, it was an adventure. Waded through a mini river inside the cave, got pretty deep, but we bossed it even though the water reached above our chests. Shoutout to Kriin, our guide, for keeping us leech-free and making sure we had a blast. Can't wait to bounce back and stay longer in this awesome spot!

Review Body: Geweldige farmstay bij Khao Sok! Super gastvrij verblijf. Kortom, aanrader!!!

Review Body: We had an absolutely amazing time at Khao Sok National Park staying the night before at Morning Mist. Morning Mist was a fantastic hostel and the team were very welcoming. We had an evening meal and breakfast there and the food and service was excellent. Khao Sok was one of the most amazing experiences we have had a family. The organisation through Seek Sophie was brilliant plenty of very useful and timely information before our trip. I 100% recommend this trip, Staying in Morning Mist and Seeking Sophie you will have the best time ever. Thank you Sarah

Review Body: It’s an online website (like Booking, Viator, Agoda etc), where you buy a trip from a local company. We expected the company to be Seek Sophie, but it was a different name. When you want to plan the trip at an exact time, it is easier to book it online through this website, even though some local hostels may offer it cheaper. In general we liked the experience in Khao Sok, everything was organised smoothly, tasty food, electricity till 9:30 pm, but no mobile service. Bungallows were clean, comfortable and cozy, we even got private one as a couple.

Review Body: We slept one night at Rungfah Farmstay before we continued with the lakeside stay at Khao Sok. Despite we arrive quite late, they welcomed us warmly and even prepared a delicious Dinner for us. The hut was simple, but the beds were comfortable and Moskito nets are provided. Our big luggage was stored at the beautiful farm during the lakestay and afterwards Mr. Yoo helped us organizing a transport to continue our journey. All in all the experience was even better than we expected and we would fully recommend!

Review Body: Our trip into the breath taking Khao Sok National Park was an unforgettable experience with Rungfah Farm Stay. Our guide, Bao, was energetic, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. We were incredibly looked after by all of the great team members and would highly recommend this tour. The weather was a bit wild to start but that can’t be helped, especially in the rainy season, and the basic bungalows are rustic which is perfect for the adventurous spirit. Go ahead and book, you won’t regret it.

Review Body: We stayed at Mr Yoo’s farm after booking through a tour and really enjoyed it! We stayed in beautiful, little huts and we were well looked after- we had breakfast, lunch and dinner there for a very cheap price. Mr Yoo was so sweet and welcoming and seemed very passionate about his farm. He also picked us up from our bus transfer which was really helpful Khao Sok is quite a quiet and empty place! 10/10 would recommend. It was a fantastic experience and felt very safe as two young girls.

Review Body: This experience was absolutely amazing. We booked with little notice and, from the get go, they were so accommodating and welcoming. Our tour guide, Tong, was a standout- teaching us many things about the jungle, animals and even played Uno with us in the evening. He was the best, making the experience everything it was! Also, the food was delicious. The dinner was a fresh caught fish from the lake and we even got pancakes for breakfast. Couldn’t recommend this experience enough!

Review Body: What a great experience at this amazing farm. Yoo was a fantastic host along with his team that made the cooking experience and following two days just perfect. Great to see all the hard work that they put into making visitors leave with lasting memories. Would highly recommended the farm a visit and stay. Although the raft house is very basic on the floating lodge the team tried to make it special for all. The floating lodge is far from mainland so need to be mindful of this.

Review Body: It was a really nice expérience - the guide was very invested. We were a Group of 30-40 persons devided in 2 groups so we didn’t feel like it was very crowded. Just a tip if you plan to go there : take earplugs ! The noise on the boat was painful as I was sitting in the back in the way to the rafthouses. There are showers there but also a few bees around so only the brave ones went ! Thank you to the team - oh and the food was lovely.

Review Body: I usually don’t leave reviews, but I have to do it in this case as I am REALLY happy about the experience!😍 De (our tour guide) and all the people at the farm were soo kind, welcoming and attentive during the whole stay!!! The meals were great and we felt really safe during the whole time. You can definitely tell De loves what is doing and does it with love. Waking up in this location was simply amazing! Would recommend it 100%.

Review Body: We stayed one night at rungfah farm stay. The room was minimal but i think it’s perfect to really get to enjoy the nature around. I loved waking up and getting to see so much green right outside the room. Everyone there was really really kind and welcoming, they helped us with everything we needed. For future guests I have to say that at night the temperature is lower so you might need a light jacket or sweatshirt.

Stay in an iconic lake rafthouse & boat safaris to spot wildlife
Staying in a floating rafthouse on Cheow Lan Lake in Khao Sok National Park is a pretty special experience that you can't find elsewhere. While these iconic rafthouses may be simple, you'll wake up surrounded by nature, take refreshing swims in the lake, and enjoy stunning views right outside your door. The experience includes a lake tour, swimming or kayaking, trekking and exploring a cave, and a boat safari for wildlife spotting. Staying in a floating raft house, guests can enjoy freshly caught fish for dinner and wake up to the breathtaking mist-covered karsts. The location provides an excellent opportunity to spot diverse wildlife, including hornbills, otter, gibbons, langurs, and macaques.Important note: Do note though that this is a very basic experience, so don't come expecting any luxury! The accommodation provided is basic (see more below) and during high season, the group sizes for the excursions can be fairly large (and chaotic!). If you want something more comfortable and a smaller group size, we'd recommend the other experiences. What to ExpectA scenic lake tour via a long-tail boatOpportunities for swimming or kayaking in the lakeHike through a jungle forest to explore a cave, or visit a waterfallEvening boat safari for wildlife spotting on day 1Staying in a floating raft house under the starsWake up to the sounds of gibbons and mist-covered karstsEarly morning boat safari to spot langurs and macaques on day 2Chance to encounter diverse wildlife.Enjoyment of peaceful surroundings and lush natureVery basic amenities at the raft house: simple mattresses on the floor, shared bathroom, no fan or ACTo bring your own towel and toiletriesKnow before you book Please read all the details carefully to ensure this trip meets your expectations!About your host: Please note that Mr Yoo does not lead this experience, he only organises the logistics with your rafthouse provider. If you would like to spend time with Mr Yoo, you can consider booking this 3D2N experience which will include one night stay at the the farmstay before proceeding to the rafthouse. This makes your visit a lot more authentic and heartfelt.Who this is for: This is a very basic experience, and we can't stress that enough. During high season, it can get extremely crowded and even a bit chaotic. It's best suited for backpackers who enjoy meeting new people and don’t mind roughing it out for a bit of adventure.Limited English: You’ll be accompanied by a local long-tail boat driver and guide who has limited English skills. While they can help to spot some wildlife, please note that they might not be able to provide detailed information about the area.Solo travellers: During the high season (November to April), due to limited capacity on the lake, solo travelers may need to share a raft house with others of the same gender (maximum 2–4 people), as per the raft house policy. Couples, however, will have their own private room and won’t need to share. We understand this arrangement may not suit everyone, so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to explore alternative options.Park fees: The Khao Sok National Park, Pier, and Wildlife Fees are not included in the package and are approximately 540 THB per adult / 270 THB per child in total. payable in cash, but are subject to change based on the park's policies. Please ensure you bring enough cash to cover these fees.High Season Group Size: During the high season (November - March), guests will likely be part of a large group, with up to 100 guests staying at the rafthouse. The lake has limited trails and caves for exploration, which means that both day-trip and overnight-trip visitors all share the same spots.Meal Service: All meals will be served at the same time for all guests, which can make the co-living space a bit busy during meal times. Expect a lively atmosphere as everyone gathers to enjoy their meals together. Guests can ask for a refill, except for the fish.Jungle Trekking: During the jungle trek, some sections of the trail involve crossing streams, so your shoes may get wet. Please be aware that there is a high chance of encountering leeches, especially after rainfall. To protect yourself and stay comfortable, we recommend wearing high socks and closed shoes. If you prefer to keep your own shoes dry or don’t have suitable footwear, jungle trekking shoes are available for rent at 50 THB per pair.Kayak Availability: There are 6-7 kayaks available at the rafthouse, which may not be sufficient for everyone in the group. Customers will likely need to share kayaks, providing an opportunity for interaction and bonding with other guests.About the Rafthouse Accommodations are very rustic and basic, featuring shared bathroom. a mattress on the floor with a simple pillow and blanket. Please be aware that there are no fans or air conditioning available.Once you arrive at the floating rafthouse, you’ll be off the grid! There is no mobile signal, so it’s the perfect chance to truly disconnect and immerse yourself in nature.Towels, shampoo, and soap are not provided, so please remember to bring your own.Electricity is limited and only available during the night for a few hours: 6:30 pm to 10:30 pmThe rafthouse doesn't have en-suite toilets - the toilets are shared between rafthouses.Meals Meals are included, though note that the meals are simple and may not be as good as elsewhere in Thailand.Halal and Vegetarian options are available - do let us know in your notes on the booking form.Itinerary notesPlease note that the itinerary allows for only one trail to be explored, and the destination is determined by the guide, depending on the season and weather conditions. Reaching the chosen spot will require a moderate-intensity hike, which could take 30 minutes to 1 hour each way, depending on the trail. The path may sometimes be wet, so we appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we prioritize safety and aim to provide the best possible experience for everyone.***Arrival & Pier Wait: Upon arrival at the pier, guests will need to wait for the boat to be ready. The guide will collect the national park and pier fees from the guests, as these are not included in the package, and pay them directly to the national park officer. Guests should expect some waiting time before the boat departs at 12 PM. The waiting time can vary and might take up to 30 minutes or more, depending on how quickly the arrangements are made.Meals and Snacks: The first meal is served around 2:30 PM, but snacks will be provided by the guide after the cave exploration. It’s recommended that guests have breakfast beforehand, as the wait can be long, and you may get hungry. While the food is decent, it may not be the most flavorful you will find in Thailand, with options like stir-fried noodles, vegetables, and rice. The itinerary may change or be canceled depending on local conditions and weather.Since Cheow Lan Lake is in a remote jungle area, please be prepared for some flexibility and enjoy the adventure as it unfolds!Logistics and meeting pointPlease note that if you are travelling with a suit case or a large backpack, you may not be able to bring it to the raft house due to limited space on the boat. We suggested you to bring small backpack for your overnight lake trip. A waterproof backpack is recommended to protect your belongings from water splashes during the boat trip or sudden rain. You have 2 options to store your bags:If you are coming back to Khao Sok, you can store with your host in Khao Sok and retrieve when you come backIf you are traveling to another destination, your host can arrange your transfer and have the driver bring your bag to you Meeting Point is at the Khao Sok area. Please note that you will need to arrive ONE DAY before the trip to be safe. There is no early morning public bus available from Ao Nang and Phuket. The earliest bus from Phuket is at 8 AM, and the latest is at 4 PM. Travel time to Khao Sok varies between 2 to 4 hours, depending on your departure point. Please check your departure destination and plan accordingly for drop-off in Khao Sok village. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us!
