Review Body: If you’re even considering doing this forest tour, just book it. It ended up being one of the most memorable travel experiences we’ve ever had.
We booked this on our last day in Lombok (you can also book directly with Ikbal, it is easy to find his details online).
From the moment we stepped into the forest, it felt like entering a completely different world. Our guide, Razaak was incredibly knowledgeable, inspiring and passionate with his own tales of growing up in the forest. We foraged as we walked, tasting unique native fruits and plants we’d never even heard of before!
The highlight was gathering ingredients ourselves and then cooking together right there in the forest. We made a delicious papaya curry from scratch, adjusting the spice level to our liking, which made it feel really personal and interactive. Sitting down to eat a meal we had helped create, surrounded by nature, was something special. Not to mention it was absolutely delicious (coming from someone who is a bit picky)..
We also learned how palm sugar is made the traditional way, which gave us a whole new appreciation for it. And the coffee was the freshest and most flavorful we’ve ever tasted.
What really made the experience stand out was how immersive and authentic it felt. It wasn’t just a tour; it was a hands-on introduction to local traditions and the natural environment.
If you’re looking for something unique, meaningful, and genuinely unforgettable, this is it. Couldn’t recommend it more highly and can't stop talking about it!
Thank you to the three brothers! I would definitely book this again!

Review Body: Ikbal was so quick to send me all the information and arrange a transfer for a great price. The tour was unforgettable. I have done several forest tours with highly qualified guides and none came close to the level of knowledge of our guide. You can tell how important the land is to him. The walk was about 2 hours - our guide made us laugh and showed us so many amazing fruits and plants. His English is also excellent, so no difficulty with communication. We then spent another 2-3 hours cooking and eating whilst sheltering from the rain, and watching traditional processes of coffee roasting and brown sugar making. Thank you for a highlight of our trip to Indonesia!

Review Body: We had the most amazing experience on this tour. The guide Razak was so kind and explained everything very clearly. You can see how passionate he is for the nature and the amount of knowledge he has. The people in the village were just amazing, they really involved us on the preparation of the food and you feel just like one of the locals. It was the most fulfilling experience we had in Lombok and we recommend everyone to try it!!

Review Body: This experience was an unexpected highlight of my travel through Lombok. The guides Zack and Ikbal were not only fantastic but so so kind and helpful and provided great advice for the next parts of my travels I loved spending time in the forest learning and "helping" make palm sugar, coffee and papaya curry. We ate very very well. It was such a pleasure being in the forest with everyone.

Review Body: We had an excellent time with Lombok Forest tours. The walk in the jungle itself was beautiful, and all the details we got explained was just amazing. When we arrived to camp there was a lot to see and try, we cooked together, made sugar together and even roasted our own coffee! We absolutely loved the day!

Walk through Lombok’s tropical forest and meet locals protecting it
This is a really lovely and meaningful way to experience the forest beyond just a normal hike. With a local guide who knows the forest like the back of his hand, you’ll taste seasonal fruit straight from the trees, learn which plants are used for food and medicine, see palm sugar made over fire, drink freshly roasted coffee, and cook papaya curry together for lunch. But what makes the experience especially meaningful is the story behind it. Lombok’s forests have long faced pressure from illegal logging, in part because cutting timber was one of the few ways some local families could make an income. This project is trying to change that by showing that the forest can be worth more standing than cut down. They work with former loggers and other members of the community to create different ways of earning a living from the forest - through coffee, cocoa, bananas, palm sugar, fruit and now, responsible tourism. And it’s already making a difference: several former loggers have now stopped logging and found alternative livelihoods instead.Along the way, you’ll slow down, learn how people here use the forest in everyday life, and share stories over food and coffee. Plus, 7% of your booking goes towards supporting local elderly people, orphans and low-income families, so your visit directly gives back to the wider community. What to ExpectEasy guided walk through Pusuk ForestTaste seasonal fruit straight from the treesLearn how plants are used for food and medicineSee palm sugar made traditionally over fireTaste warm palm sugar while it’s still cookingCook papaya curry and sambal with localsShare a simple lunch at the community campSee local coffee roasted, ground and brewedGood to KnowIncludes roughly 2–3 hours of easy forest walkingSuitable for most fitness levels and childrenSeasonal fruit depends on what’s growing at the timeWear comfortable shoes and bring insect repellentThere are no toilets during the forest walkTransport isn’t included, but hotel pick-up can be addedThis is a join-in experience7% of your booking supports local elderly people, orphans and low-income families
