Review Body: We loved how Ryan had extensive knowledge about every single fish that we saw in the market, he also was able to keep all of us engaged with his anecdotes about the history of the fishing port. We were able to experience first hand the lives of the fishermen in Singapore that I had absolutely no idea about! And what a nice surprise arranged by them at the end of our tour we had a fresh piping hot plate of calamari!!

Review Body: Was a really great and insightful tour! Brought a few friends along and they really enjoyed it. Learned a lot about the finishing industry in Singapore and the neighboring countries. Also learned a lot about fish. Our guide Yi Xuan was super enthusiastic about all the fish so made it more exciting. Highly recommend! But do take a nap as it goes long into the night 😅

Review Body: Enjoyed the entire experience! It was a well paced tour; understanding the history of the fish port to the business and down to the individual fish species! Both Yixuan and Ryan are very knowledgeable about the subject and topic. Would recommend for people to visit this hidden gem of Singapore.

Review Body: We had a wonderful time. The tour was just the right duration (2h) and size (about 13 pax).
We visited a large number of interesting places full of hidden history. Stanley and Amanda are really passionate about their tours and about Singapore and it shows. They answered all our questions with enthusiasm and their energy never flagged despite the hot weather. The tour does not feel overly curated or formal.
Our visit to Uncle Chow's home was a highlight. I like that they know Uncle Chow's story and home well and are very respectful of his space.
Happy to support such a high quality local tour and I am looking forward to joining the rest of their tours.

Review Body: Some say that Singapore is boring but that’s because they have not discovered Hidden Heritage. This tour provided us great insights and opportunity to tour an abandoned factory and a chance to meet interesting tour mates as well. There is even an added secret bonus as part of the trip which gives the tour an added punch. Thank you to the team Eugene, Amanda and Stanley for the wonderful time! Looking forward to more!

Review Body: The “Don’t Call Us Poor” programme is an intriguing & engaging heartland tour experience, suitable for locals and tourists alike! Countless hidden gems scattered throughout Lavender, they are obscure and you will not have the chance to learn about them readily without the friendly & patient guides Amanda and Stanley. Highly recommended, thanks so much for the well-curated programme 😁

Review Body: Amanda and Stanley did not find passion in their job, they passioned their job 🥹🫶🏻
Thank you for showing heritages that are buried in this local sunny island. I will never take my neighbourhoods for granted.
Join their “don’t call us poor” tour and youd experience how rich this neighbourhood is with culture and hidden heritages behind every door, signage and storefront.

Step inside Singapore’s hidden seafood world before dawn
This is a super rare chance to step inside one of Singapore’s most restricted and least-seen spaces. You’ll step inside Jurong Fishery Port, one of Singapore’s most restricted spaces, during peak market activity. Instead of seeing seafood at the restaurant or wet market end, you’ll be at the source, watching how it is landed, traded, priced, and sent across the island before the city fully wakes up.This is not a polished food tour. It’s a behind-the-scenes look at the hidden system that quietly feeds Singapore every day. You’ll see how seafood is received, sorted, and sold in a real wholesale environment, and hear the stories of the merchants and distributors who keep it moving. The tour also connects the port to Singapore’s wider food history. You’ll trace the fish trade from the old Ellenborough Market to today’s wholesale hub, uncover lesser-known heritage stories, and hear a few true-crime tales along the way. There’s free time at the end if you want to try buying seafood yourself. What to expectWitness the fish landing and peak market activityHeritage Insights: Trace the roots of the fish trade from Ellenborough Market to the present-day port.Behind-the-Scenes Access: Learn how seafood is received, sorted, priced, and distributed throughout SingaporeAtmospheric scenes of this bustling siteTrue crime storiesFree and easy time to have a go at purchasing your seafoodGood to knowWe'll be walking through the wet and slippery Jurong Fishery Port market, so please be fit, bring an umbrella in case of rain, and wear covered shoes with good grip that you don't mind getting dirty. Remember to bring your IC, Work Pass or Passport (for foreigners and tourists) to enter this secured area. It'll be fun!
