An active day with orangutans, gold mine and jungle biking
If you enjoy being active and trying something a bit different, this is a really rewarding day. You’ll get a proper nature fix, see orangutans, explore a real gold mine (something few travellers do), and end with a jungle bike ride that feels like a real adventure. You’ll start with orangutans at Semenggoh, then head out to Bau to explore caves and step into a real gold mine. It’s a nice mix of wildlife and history, but the real highlight is the afternoon. You’ll go mountain biking through jungle trails — expect rocky paths, some steep sections, and a bit of a challenge if you’re new. The guides are excellent and will help you along the way, but this is definitely more “adventure” than “leisure ride”.What to ExpectVisit Semenggoh orangutan sanctuaryExplore Fairy CaveVisit Bau gold mining townEnter a real gold mineMountain biking through jungle trailsLunch in BauImportant TipsGet ready to sweat – this is more adventure than easy, leisure ride.
