Discover Kuching through food and stories
Kuching has some of the best street food in Malaysia — but you wouldn’t know where to find the good stuff on your own, and you definitely wouldn’t know the stories behind it.This walking tour takes you straight to the best local spots, while helping you understand what makes Sarawak food different — like why laksa here tastes nothing like the rest of Malaysia, or why locals eat it for breakfast. You’ll also cross the Sarawak River by sampan and explore a quieter kampong, so it’s street food and sightseeing in one. With a local guide leading the way, you’ll visit kopitiams, bakeries and hawker stalls, trying dishes like laksa and kolo mee while hearing the stories behind them. It’s easy, relaxed, and a really nice way to get to know Kuching. What to ExpectTry Sarawak favourites like laksa, kolo mee, tebaloiLearn about Sarawak’s cultures through foodVisit kopitiams, bakeries and hawker stallsEat with a knowledgeable local guideCross the river by traditional sampanWalk through a quieter kampong areaGood to KnowThe tour lasts around 4 hours and involves walking – comfy shoes are a good idea! This is a join-in experience, great for solo travellers or small groupsAll food and drink tastings, plus boat fees, are included.
