Review Body: It was surprisingly educational! We learned quite a bit about the origins of pho and even some Vietnamese history and culture along the way. Some of the tastings were quite creative too (like the deep-fried pho), which made it more fun and memorable. Jovel was a lovely host, warm, welcoming, knowledgable, and the pho is really yummy as well! It felt like a pretty unique experience that you probably wouldn’t find elsewhere!

Review Body: Had an enlightening session with Ben on understanding the origins of Pho and the evolution of it throughout the years. There is more to Pho then the Southern Vietnam version we see around the world! We had so much fun at Saigon Social that we signed up for their Vietnamese Coffee Worshop/Introduction right after! Thank you Jovel and team!

Review Body: The experience was fantastic! It started with a brief intro about the origins and production of fish sauce (we learned some fun facts about anchovies!). Then came a blind taste test between mass-produced and premium fish sauces — a great way to notice the difference in taste and aroma. We also tried creative pairings with veggies, spring rolls, ice cream, and even cheese. Jovel shared an interesting perspective: mass-produced fish sauce isn't necessarily bad — its lighter flavor actually pairs well with salads and leaves you feeling less heavy after a meal. We all walked away with new knowledge and a fresh appreciation for just how versatile fish sauce can be.

Review Body: I stumbled upon SeekSophie during an online search. It was a nice change from the usual sponsored search results as it offered genuine and interesting options for discovering Ho Chi Minh City. I love SE Asian food so I signed up for the fish sauce tasting event but sadly not enough people signed up. They offered a coffee omakase program that I did instead. The venue space was conveniently located in District 1 and was bright and quiet. We tried several local coffees and made our own egg or salted coffee. Everything was great. Thanks muchly!

Review Body: The highlight of our trip! My friends and I so enjoyed learning about fish sauce- it was a really fun hour as we got to sample the different types of fish sauce and also learn more about the regional nuances to it and identify the differences between commercial and artisan brewed fish sauce. We loved our facilitator, she was hilarious, knowledgeable and just plain delightful!

Review Body: Fish Saice tasting? Whaaa? Yeah, this was good. You gotta love fish sauce but Tracy talked us through it all and we did some blind tasting and not so blind tasting of artisan and commercial fish sauces and pairing them. It sounds goofy, but it was the real deal. Highly recommend.

Try 6 unique pho dishes & foodie trivia in a fun, cosy spot with a local host
You can grab a bowl of phở on nearly every street corner in Vietnam - but they’ll almost always be just one style. What makes this experience special is that it shows you how much more there is to phở than the usual beef noodle soup. In one short, tasty session, you’ll try six wildly different versions - some you'll never find just wandering around on your own. Ever heard of crispy fried phở or “two-bowl” phở? Didn’t think so.If you’ve spent even a day in Vietnam, you’ll know phở isn’t just food - it’s a national obsession. Everyone has an opinion on where to get the best bowl, how it should be eaten, and what makes a “proper” broth. North or South? Beef or chicken? Herbs or no herbs? It’s basically Vietnam’s version of a friendly food feud. This tasting experience dives into that world, showing you how phở has evolved across regions and how seriously locals take it.It’s a perfect pick for curious travellers who want to go beyond just eating street food and actually understand it. You’ll learn where phở came from, how it differs from place to place, and pick up plenty of fun foodie facts along the way. You’ll be hosted by Jovel, a well-known food writer and local culinary expert who’s spent years uncovering Vietnam’s hidden food gems. She and her team of food and beverage pros are on a mission to share Vietnam’s evolving food culture - and it shows in the way they tell the stories behind each dish. Expect to walk away not just full, but with a whole new appreciation for Vietnam’s most iconic dish. And if you're feeling extra adventurous, you can even try creative phở-infused treats like phở-flavoured chocolate or phở gin - yep, that’s a thing. Bold, unexpected, and surprisingly good. What to ExpectSample 6 unique phở styles, including stir-fried, crispy, dry-style, Southern and Northern broths, and fresh rollsDeep dive into Vietnam’s love for phở - how it's made, served, and passionately debatedFun stories and cultural insights shared by your passionate local food hostUse house-made condiments to customise your own perfect bowlOptional phở-inspired chocolate and gin tastings available on-site (for an extra fee)Good to KnowLocated in a cosy, tucked-away space right in District 1 – easy to reachNot suitable for vegetarians – most phở styles feature meat-based broths
