Review Body: Wow. What an incredible experience. Mr Yu and his team were both friendly and professional. Nothing was too much of an ask and there was always someone available to help. The cooking class has been a highlight of my trip to Thailand!! The overnight stay was authentic yet comfortable with mosquito nets, good pillows and covers. It felt great to be surrounded by nature. WiFi is available on the farm but I opted to disconnect and take in the rural experience. I would do this all over again, without hesitation! We were really lucky and only had a group of 5 people but Mr Yu did mention that some days are busier with multiple classes happening at the same time. I know some people like to go into experiences blind, so if you don’t want to know about the day, stop reading now but just know you will have an incredible time at Rungfah Farm Stay!! - First, we were given a tour of the farm and picked the veg and herbs needed for our cooking. Then, we were shown how to grate coconuts to make coconut milk - which we then used for the cooking of our Thai red curry! We were taught how to fold rice in banana leaves ready to be put in bamboo and cooked on the open fire. Next, we were each tasked with a different job for the preparation. I helped with the curry paste and cutting vegetables. We waited for the coconut milk to come to the boil and then we started cooking on a traditional fire stove. We made four dishes, all of which were delicious and enjoyed from bamboo plates.

Review Body: We stayed one night before and one night after a boat tour in the NP. On arriving, the host provided us with a small but very tasty lunch. Then we could relax before starting the cooking class. The cooking class was really great (and resulted in great food too!) We were shown around the farm and gathered the ingredients fresh! The breakfast was also very tasty before we went to the boat tour. While we had the tour, we could leave our luggage for one day&night and then came back for the second night. On the second night, we were provided with an absolutely amazing meal! We were in low season and all alone on the farm, but we got 3 different dishes + rice which were honestly the best food we got in all our vacation. (we even saw the cook quickly gather some herbs from the farm for our meal, it tasted absolutely amazing) After a second tasty breakfast, we got transported to the bus station by the hosts brother and left the farmstay with great memories. If you do not need a hotel-like experience, but are fine with more simple accommodation for a few nights, we would definetly recommend the place! The host, his family and workers on the farm were all really nice and could help with all that we needed. While the accommodations are very simple, it was a great experience all around!

Review Body: Just book it. The farm stay was absolutely wonderful. It felt like serenity after a lot of travelling. The food we made was delicious and we got to try and learn about different herbs during Mr. Yoo’s garden tour. The farm stay is more intimate with a group size under 20 people. The family is so welcoming, funny and great conversationalists. I had a bit of a medical issue and Mr. Yoo drove me into town to the pharmacy before we headed out to the floating bungalows, no questions asked. The bed was so comfortable, everything was very clean and the bathrooms were private for each cabin. Cheow Lan Lake is breathtaking and this is an affordable way to see the beauty of the lake. On the lake, we had a group of around 60 people. Our bungalow on the lake had a new mattress, but some people stayed on what was similar to a bamboo mat. There is no AC. There is a fan at the farm stay which is all you need, a little warmer at the bungalow, but manageable. We saw a lot of wildlife on our boat safaris. It was well organized. There are a limited number of kayaks, so make sure to organize your time to use one. Definitely don’t expect 5 star amenities on the lake with the shared bathrooms, but they work for the night. We loved this tour and would book again!

Review Body: Highly recommend. Mr Yoo welcomed me in his garden with a long Pink Floyd t-shirt, a cigarette, and a kind smile. Almost right away one can appreciate that him, his family, and crew, work hard for their guests, and it shows. We were treated very warmly all throughout our stay, and they helped us even outside of the farm with arranging activities and transport. You sleep in well-equipped bamboo huts, comfortably, and are able to feel the sounds of the tropical jungle and the calm of rural life. The farm is cozy and small; you see and taste the crops that form the basis of Thai cuisine. Lemongrass, makrut lime, four types of completely different basil, chilies, etc. Very cool. We made our own coconut milk, boiled rice in bamboo and learned how to make Thai red curry. They vary the menu from day to day, and the farm's produce is delicious. I would love to have more cooking sessions with them. I ended up staying at the farm for two nights, with a night in the Lake in between, and I can highly recommend it. The only complaint I could come up with is that the curry could be spicier, but the guests are to blame for that.

Review Body: You’re not doing Khao Sok right if you don’t stay here! What an INCREDIBLE experience. We had such an amazing time meeting Mr Yoo and his family, hearing his story’s and how his fantastic farm that he shared with us came to be. The food was fantastic, the way we all got involved and took part in creating the dish was so comforting to see it all come together. From shaving coconuts to deep frying pumpkin in tempura batter(don’t knock it till you try it I’m taking that recipe home with me) the whole experience was pure and heart filled. He was also more than happy to accommodate and change things for the vegetarians that were with us. The bamboo huts were (despite all the flys) one of the best mattresses I’ve slept on in the whole of Thailand. Our own bathroom connected to the back of the hut. I call it a 5 star luxury resort I had a blast. Even my boyfriend who was rather skeptical (it’s not his usual thing) but he also enjoyed the full experience and getting involved with it all.

Review Body: We had the best time staying at this farm! We are vegan and were worried about how it would work for us but they were great. We made coconut milk and curry sauce as a group. We avoided adding shrimp paste due to 2 vegans and one veggie, we also avoided peanuts due to a peanut allergy. They used gluten free recipe too due to someone with a gluten allergy. They then took some currry to put with tofu and cooked the chicken in the rest. There was soooo much delicious food everyone was full! It was nice to sit and eat all together as a group. We made friends with another couple who we travelled with to the lake house. Mr Yoo is a delight, he makes you feel like you are visiting and staying at a friend’s place. He trusts you to stay up and drink beers from the fridge and just make note of how much you owe. We even bumped into him after our stay in Khao Sok village with his baby, he was saying to message him if we need help with anything at all. A true gem!!

Review Body: Mr. Yoo and his family have such sweet hearts and warm knowledge about gardening and Thai culture. The cooking class was perfectly organised and resulted in four amazing dishes – top-notch Thai cuisine! The presentation was authentic and very inviting. We were so happy to stay overnight at the farm – the scenery is ideal for an evening walk, and if you’re lucky, you might spot some wildlife 🙂 Breakfast was tasty and energising, a great way to start the day before heading to the khao sok lake. The lake is hard to grasp in words. It’s absolutely mesmerising, the whole place feels magical! The sleeping arrangements were basic, but honestly – you’ll never swim in a more beautiful lake. We didn’t get to see much wildlife (they were hiding because of the sound of the boat engines ), but the stunning landscape made up for it. And a surplus: it's a good digital detox since there is no internet by the lake. Don’t hesitate – just book!

Review Body: Yoo and his family and helpers were such great hosts! 😁 We had some good laughs and he helped me coordinate the airport rides and an incredibly cool hike to see the corpse flowers! (Would only recommend this if you're really into plants.) The cooking class was a lot of fun and different from another one I had taken in Northern Thailand. 😃 The bed at the farm stay was the comfiest I had in Thailand yet, accommodations were rustic but clean and nice, definitely a glamping vibe! On the raft house the accommodations were more rustic and less fancy than at the farm, so guests should thoroughly read the descriptions and be prepared about what you are getting. Then you'll love it!! The scenery and vibe at the lake was very nice and worth visiting. One thing people should know is that there seemed to be generally more cigarette smoking in this part of Thailand than some others so you will probably smell it at some points.

Review Body: Absolutely loved this experience!!! Mr. You is so welcoming and this was one of the highlights of my trip. The food both at the farm and on the bungalows was actually so delicious and all the transportation was very well organized. The only chaotic part is the pier at the lake when all of the other tour groups have to go through so just be sure to remember the shirts of our tour company. Also for the afternoon hike don’t ignore the instruction about having long socks, the leeches are in fact there and bit several members of the group (they are not dangerous or anything but obviously unpleasant). It is possible to get to Koh Samui, Lanta, etc. the day after the bungalows, you will just bring your big bag with you from the farm then the bungalow people will drop you at the bus station for the connection. I booked an extra day at the farm to be safe and went to Koh Phangan the next day, would recommend that as well.

Review Body: We spent one wonderful night at Yoo’s farm in a traditional bamboo hut, surrounded by nature. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with a delicious homemade Thai lunch. Our hut was charming, spotless, and comfortable, with a hammock on the terrace and peaceful nature sounds all around. The afternoon cooking class was a real highlight. Using freshly handpicked ingredients from the farm, we were guided through each step and proudly prepared our own Thai dinner—an experience that exceeded all expectations. Yoo and his team were incredibly welcoming and helpful, assisting us with everything from transport arrangements to local tips and travel advice. We highly recommend stopping at Yoo’s farm to experience the true warmth and authenticity of rural Thailand. ❤️

Review Body: We booked the farm cooking class and floating house on the lake. The cooking class was such a nice time, sharing moment and food with poeple. The staff is very nice and it was a pleasure to learn with them. After that we moved to the floating bungalow where we enjoyed the lake. The team was very helpful to explain everything we saw. The only thing we didn’t like was a group of teenagers who came just to be drunk and has been disrespectful with all the poeple around. It’s not about the organization it’s just a bad timing with a lot of teenagers smoking drinking and went loud all day and night during the activities and the time off. But thank you to the team they was perfect

Review Body: Mr. Yoo is a fantastic host—very friendly and full of interesting insights about Thailand. He takes the time to explain everything and makes sure his guests feel comfortable. The cooking class was not only informative but also a lot of fun, especially with the welcoming farm family. The accommodations are a unique experience, just as expected. Each sleeping spot is surrounded by breathtaking scenery that creates a magical atmosphere. A real highlight is the second night in a floating bungalow—falling asleep to the gentle movement of the water and waking up in the middle of nature is truly special. An unforgettable experience that I can highly recommend!

Review Body: We stayed at Yu’s farm for one night and had an amazing experience. After traveling in Thailand for two weeks, I would still say that this was the most beautiful place I have been (see photos!!!). Yu and his staff were great. We got a tour of the farm to see the many unique crops growing on the farm and learn how to transform it into a delicious Thai meal. The rooms had very comfy beds, good bathrooms, and fans. Everything you need! We stayed at the Rungfah farmstay one night and then headed to the floating bungalows on the lake the next night, and I can honestly say I enjoyed the farmstay more (though they’re both great). Highly recommend booking :)

Review Body: We were a group of 5 and yu and his wonderful workers were so accomodating, making sure we had everything we needed. He gave us direction for a walk around the property in the afternoon. The food was plentiful as we were working in groups of 6 so despite there being about 20-30 ppl everyone was fed. The cooking class was so awesome, hands on and educational, teaching us a lot about Thai cooking. Would highly recommend this to anyone who loves Thai food and wants to learn the traditional way of thai cooking because it was truly the best we’ve had so far!

Review Body: I loved staying at the Rungfah farm! I had a great time. The location is truly breathtakingly beautiful the owner was very friendly and helpful, also the staff was so friendly! I loved the combination of staying on the farm and staying at the floating bungalow. You start your journey zen on the farm and make a delicious dish during the cooking class with ingredients from their own vegetable garden, that's great! Afterwards you go on the lake, everything was taken care of. 1000/10 would recommend this to anyone! 🙏🏼

Review Body: Loved this trip the stay at Rungfah farm and floating bungalows was truly a unique experience. The cooking class was great, you pick the spices, herbs and vegetables that you cook for dinner and make coconut milk from scratch. The hosts are brilliant and staying on the farm was truly memorable. The floating bungalow experience was also great, the lake itself is beautiful and it’s a once in a lifetime trip. The accommodation is basic so if you are ok with that this is truly a wonderful experience.

Review Body: This is the cutest little farm in the middle of khao sok, surrounded by gorgeous landscape. Mr Yu and his staff are all lovely and can’t do enough for you, you can tell he loves his job and will sit and chat to you, answering any questions you might have. The huts are equipped with shower, toilet, comfy beds and mosquito nets as well as a fan, the only noise you hear is that of the gibbons out in the forest or the roosters nearby, it’s the perfect secluded stay i loved it

During high season, the rafthouse (Day 2) can get extremely crowded and even a bit chaotic. It's best suited for backpackers who enjoy meeting new people and don’t mind roughing it out for a bit of adventure.Limited English: You’ll be accompanied by a local long-tail boat driver and guide who has limited English skills. While they can help to spot some wildlife, please note that they might not be able to provide detailed information about the area.Solo travellers: During the high season (November to April), due to limited capacity on the lake, solo travelers may need to share a raft house with others of the same gender (maximum 2–4 people), as per the raft house policy. Couples, however, will have their own private room and won’t need to share. We understand this arrangement may not suit everyone, so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to explore alternative options.Park fees: The Khao Sok National Park, Pier, and Wildlife Fees are not included in the package and are approximately 540 THB per adult / 270 THB per child in total. payable in cash, but are subject to change based on the park's policies. Please ensure you bring enough cash to cover these fees.High Season Group Size: During the high season (November - March), guests will likely be part of a large group, with up to 100 guests staying at the rafthouse. The lake has limited trails and caves for exploration, which means that both day-trip and overnight-trip visitors all share the same spots.Meal Service: All meals will be served at the same time for all guests, which can make the co-living space a bit busy during meal times. Expect a lively atmosphere as everyone gathers to enjoy their meals together. Guests can ask for a refill, except for the fish.Jungle Trekking: Jungle Trekking: During the jungle trek, some sections of the trail involve crossing streams, so your shoes may get wet. Please be aware that there is a high chance of encountering leeches, especially after rainfall. To protect yourself and stay comfortable, we recommend wearing high socks and closed shoes.
