Review Body: Tanjung Punting Park is incredible and our experience was unforgettable. We saw a lot of wildlife. The staff was very kind and accommodating and the food was great. The big downside of our experience on this tour, however, was that our young "guide" barely spoke any English at all and was not at all knowledgeable about wildlife. In fact, he would clap his hands loudly when we saw wildlife from the boat to try to get the animals' attention... We therefore saw many animals but with zero explanations, which is really a pity. Communicating was an issue (we often had to resort to using Google Translate to communicate important things). I had booked this tour after reading good recommendations regarding Siti, however Siti was nowhere to be seen. I would therefore warmly recommend a boat tour of Tanjung Puting but with another company who has actual wildlife biologists/specialists.

Review Body: This tour was beyond anything we could’ve imagined. Siti was so patient and helpful in arranging travel from the US (practically impossible using trip planning apps in country). When we arrived, her whole team was ready and the adventure began! Zaki our guide and the rest had f the crew worked seamlessly to make sure everything was taken care of: from preparing delicious food to keep us going, to having all the permits to travel to all the treks and little corners of the national park. Zaki was absolutely amazing, funny, kind, and intuitive. He was quick to read any and every situation and shared all his knowledge with us in the kindest way. We were sad to see our trip end after seeing an astounding number of orangutans, monkeys, gibbon, butterflies, birds, insects, mushrooms, plants, trees, the list went on and on! This should be at the top of everyone’s adventure of a lifetime list!

Review Body: Had a really nice day exploring Pangkalanbun and Kumai. The visit to Istana Mangkubumi was super special because the host also my guide, Monica shared real family stories that made the place come alive. Istana Kuning was interesting too, even though the staff weren’t really around when I visited. What made the day even better was Monica, my guide. She was friendly, easy to talk to, and shared so many real stories about the local culture, myths, and daily life. It didn’t feel scripted at all, just real and honest. The canoe ride along the Arut River was peaceful and a really cool way to see how people live along the water. I was actually not feeling very fit, but Monica's stories make me feel awake and energise! Overall it’s a simple, genuine experience. Nothing fancy, but thanks to Monica, it felt personal and really memorable.

Review Body: I went on a solo trip with Siti's Tour, it was fantastic. My crew (Captain, assistant captain, cook & tour guide) were brilliant. We had incredible encounters each day with the Orangutans. The food was local and lovely. I had the houseboat all to myself, which was wonderful, I could lie on the sunbeds as we travelled up the river. I spotted wild orangutans swinging in the trees along the river, Proboscis monkeys & monitor lizards from the boat. The crew were very attentive and responsive. I had a wonderful time.

3D2N orangutan cruise + Pangkalan Bun town visit to learn about local culture
Most 3-day orangutan cruises focus only on wildlife, but this this unique itinerary gives you a rare chance to explore the history and culture of Pangkalan Bun, the gateway town to Tanjung Puting. On the first two days, you’ll travel deep into the Tanjung Puting rainforest by klotok (houseboat) to visit three orangutan feeding stations, spot proboscis monkeys from the boat and do jungle treks. There's also a cooking demo on board to learn about local recipes. On the last day, you’ll explore Pangkalan Bun with a local guide who grew up here and brings the town to life with personal stories of culture, myths, and everyday life. Visit Istana Kuning (the Yellow Palace, where the royal family still lives), traditional Dayak longhouses, canoe along the Arut River, explore a local market, and visit a floating mosque. It’s a slower, more thoughtful kind of adventure - perfect for travellers who want to see wildlife and learn how indigenous communities live in harmony with the forest. What to Expect3D2N klotok cruise through Tanjung Puting including orangutan feeding stations at Tanjung Harapan, Pondok Tanggui and Camp LeakeyDaily wildlife cruises - see proboscis monkeys, birds, and possibly even wild orangutansOptional firefly watching and a guided night trek in the jungleCooking demos on board the boat to learn local recipesAn immersive cultural day in Pangkalan Bun - visit historic palaces, markets and a floating mosqueGuided canoe ride down the Arut River to see everyday life unfold along the waterLed by a warm, knowledgeable guide who shares personal stories and local legendsGood to KnowTanjung Puting National Park is closed annually from 15–31 January and 1–15 June for the annual habitat recovery program. This is a private trip, so you won’t be grouped with other travellersAll meals on the boat are covered, but lunch on the cultural day is at your own expenseExpect basic but comfortable facilities on the boat (mattress, mosquito net)The jungle treks are easy-going and suitable for beginners, but do bring insect repellent and light long clothes, leech socks are recommendedThe cultural day does involve a bit of walking and getting in/out of canoes - nothing strenuous, but wear comfy shoes and clothesAlthough this company works with a lot of women guides, male guides may also be leading your trip, especially during high season (June - August).Amenities/facilitiesThe houseboat features an open-air sleeping area that uses natural airflow for ventilation. Sleeping spaces are fitted with mosquito nets to ensure a comfortable night’s restShower uses cold fresh water while toilet flush uses river waterOnboard meals freshly prepared by the crew
